MarthaE5 Stars Out Of 5This is a nice little Advent devotional book.January 22, 2018MarthaEQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4My rating 4.5.
I gifted this little devotional to my Ladies Book Club, and a few friends, as our December reading choice. We so often get caught up in the rush and busyness of the holiday season that I thought this would help us focus on the reason for the season.
This is pocket size and I carried mine with me in my purse and sometimes in my briefcase to read if I had to wait for a hearing. I liked the way it was set out with a code word for each day. There is a scripture verse, a devotion, a code word with description and then a short sentence prayer.
All of the ladies indicated they appreciated the quick and meaningful devotions. I encourage believers to pick this up or another advent devotional to help prepare their hearts during the Christmas season.

Gave them to a Bible study group I lead and they all have remarked how it has made them feel as though they were "there" with Mary and Joseph. Highly recommend - will be using Hawkins' Lenten devotional too!!
Treenz3 Stars Out Of 5Just OK, very thin and tinySeptember 25, 2017TreenzQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3My first observation on receiving this, to be completely honest, was disappointment. This is so tiny and thin it really is like a pamphlet type book where I was expecting a normal size book. That aside, the content is okay. Nothing too new, however it does bring focus on different elements of christmas from a spiritual light - which is always good. The devotions are very short with a scripture and a code word. The code word is bringing a focus to the reading for you to ponder throughout the day.
This would make a good christmas gift, if you are needing some small and inexpensive, yet meaningful. It's nothing overly deep or new but still nice for a token gift.
Please note that I received a copy of this in exchange for my review, however all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Daily Devotions Celebrating the Advent Season
By O. S. Hawkins
This is a small book filled with important information about the Advent Season. The book contains devotions drawn from The Believers Code, which is a 365-day devotional to unlock the blessing of God. If you never celebrated the Advent Season, this would be a good book to start with and if you celebrate Advent, add this to your celebration. This will help to bring peace and joy to your celebration. The Advent Season starts 25 days before Christmas, a time to celebrate and prepare for the coming of the Christ.
Each devotion page starts with a Bible verse and adds a short devotion and a code word for each day. It makes a great study and will help give a understanding to the season and why we celebrate Christmas. This book is the right size and is priced right [the review copy I received showed a USD price of $2.99] for you to give it as a gift or as a addition gift to those on your gift list. It is a great way to share the Gospel and the Christmas story with friends and family.
