Oh my goodness. I loved this book. I had previously read The Seekers and The Blessing and I love how The Celebration continued the story where those left off, while introducing us to more characters. I fell in love with Heidi and Lyle in the first book and couldnt have been happier when I saw that they were able to welcome the two children into their home. This book was a wonderful third in the series. I loved getting to know each of the children in the cooking class background. I could feel for the struggles they were all dealing with, maybe especially because I am a parent. Children hold a special place in my heart and this book was a great depiction of just what a blessing each and every child is, a true gift. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Lyle and Heidi Troyer, unable to have children of their own have become foster parents to Randy and Marsha. They had lost their parents in a car accident. They are not Amish, but they need a home and the Troyers heart are in need of children and becoming foster parents will suit their needs as well.

Heidi is thinking Marsha and Randy need more contact with children their own age and came up with the idea of teaching a cooking class for children. Not only would this help her foster children , but bring other young children into the circle around her kitchen table. Heidi is Amish and her walk with God is always evident.

When the other children sign up for the cooking class, one or both parents came also. They were all strangers to each other. Heidi soon discovered that each family are going through a rough time in their lives also.

The cooking class and the making friends with the other children help Randy and Marsha through their loss and becomes a healing place for the other children and parents alike.

I found this book not only interesting - but in Wandas written word How a person can make a change in others lives ,by listening and willing to become a giving friend. Each hard times that each family had gone through, had helped Heidi in her own struggles in life as well as the other parents and childfren in Heidis Cooking Class.

I enjoyed the story of trials, hurt feelings, desperations, loneliness and love or loss of love. Wanda has a gift of making each person real in her book. She has shown in her words. how one person giving of herself. has gained a life that God intended for her.

Kindness is a great gift to give; Listening some times is all one needs.

I recieved a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Amish Cooking Class : The Celebration - Book 3

    By: Wanda E. Brunstetter

The Celebration is book three in Amish Cooking Class series. I have read all of the books in Amish Cooking Class series and have enjoyed them all . The Celebration is a little different from the other two books. The story is well written and the characterizers were well developed. Heidi decides to have more cooking classes and this time for children. Heidi and Lyle also are fostering two children whom parents were killed . This was an enjoyable read and getting back together with some of the characters from the other two books was good. If you have read the other two books in the series you will not want to miss out on The Celebration. The author also put recipes in the back of the book that I am sure you will love.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review.

Five families come together for six cooking classes. Is it a recipe for chaos or a time to learn and grow? Heidi Troyer decides to do another series of cooking classes this one specifically for children. She wants to give the foster children she and her husband Lyle have welcomed into their family an opportunity to meet other children and learn to cook. Does she soon realize shes made a mistake or will her class members acquire cooking skills as well as building new friendships? Just like the other two books in the series Heidis Amish cooking classes are filled with a variety of characters with unique traits. Some you will like, others just must grow on you! Its a wild ride with their dissimilar personalities and needs. Will Heidi and Lyle finally be able to adopt and have the family they yearn for or will their hopes be dashed by a stranger lurking? Each is stand-alone, but you will delight in all three in the series. Check them out and be a part of the celebration! In addition, the recipes are included at the back of the book!

Wanda re-visits the home of Lyle & Heidi Troyer, an Amish couple. They have taken in 2 foster kids and Heidi decides to hold another cooking class, but for kids this time. The story follows the lives of the children attending the class. All from different backgrounds, but each with their own issues. Heidi ponders how she can help each family and gives each child a scripture to read on the back of each recipe. All in all, a great read.
