One involves illegal drug smuggling and the other involves illegal information gathering. The story takes readers from Washington, D.C. to Michigan as well as overseas. There are other subplots going on as well that tie together at the end of the story nicely. There are reappearances of characters Eva Montana and Griff Topping from the prior two books as well as investigative reporter Kat Kowicki.
This story centers on Kat Kowicki and her crusade to take down Senator Lars Zorn, as well as uncovering new information on John F. Kennedys assassination. Kat also gets a love interest in this story in the form of Detective Jack McKenna. It is Jacks father, a retired Chicago policeman, who provides Kat with new information that was covered up at the time of Kennedys assassination. The plot is complex and requires attention to detail, but keeps readers interested.
I was expecting most of the book to be about the Kennedy assassination, but that was not the real focus of the story so I was a little disappointed on that front. I would also have liked to see more interaction between Kat and Jack so I could see their relationship develop and not suddenly have deep feelings for one another. I didnt see them making that connection as one minute they were quarreling and the next they couldnt stop thinking about each other, but I didnt read much dialogue between the two so I didnt feel the development of their relationship. I did like the faith elements in the story via Jack and his father, Big John. The amount of research and hands-on detail included made the story interesting. I also liked the terrorist angle added to the story as it put more suspense into the plot. Ill be reading the next book in the series, Heros Ransom, and posting the review here.
Sufficient in JesusAge: 18-24Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Captivating Read!October 9, 2013Sufficient in JesusAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Camelot Conspiracy is one captivating read. I shared this book with a review buddy; she read it first, then I read it, and along the way we discussed what we liked so much about this story.
First lets talk characters. Characters are the factor that makes a story, in my estimation. Our main characters are Jack McKenna and Kat Kowicki. Jack is a harmonica playing, licorice eating, blue-eyed Chicago cop, currently working on a joint terrorism task force.
Kat is an investigative reporter who will never stop striving for stories that tell the truth and expose corruption. It doesn't matter to her how powerful the person is whom she's exposing, or how close their threats come to her.
Then their are the other characters, many of them involved with the task-force.
They are a diverse group of men and women from multiple agencies and countries of origin, and they all have one goal that bonds them together: keeping the world safe from terror.
Their teamwork is a great part of this story, and their exchanges back and forth reveal their personalities. We get little windows into their lives: Eva Montanna, who is eager to get home to her children and husband; Griff Topping, who is waiting for a woman he loves to call him and renew their relationship, and Bo Rider, who we first meet in this book as he leans against a doorjamb and works on a Sudoku puzzle.
Now for the Plot. Much of the plot of The Camelot Conspiracy is just that: plots.
A unique and deadly terrorist plot, buried conspiracy plots, global espionage plots....
All these threads tie together to make a very exciting story and through the Munson's skilled writing, it isn't overwhelming.
And the Settings. From a lavish empire in the Islands funded by drug running, to the Chicago restaurant 'Mrs. O'Leary's Lantern', to a dirty warehouse in Kazakhstan, you feel like you are right there with the characters.
Thank you Diane and David for sending me my review copy! I am eager to read more of your books.

The Camelot Conspiracy
What a privilege to write a review of this book! I totally enjoy Diane and David Munson's books.
As the title and cover would indicate it is factional fiction surrounding the Kennedy assassination and the investigation details surrounding that event. When Eva Montana receives a collect phone call from Cuba she is somewhat stunned. Fortunately, she takes the time to listen to the weakened voice and begin investigating this man behind the voice.
Meanwhile, Kat Kowicki, a brash TV reporter finds herself sent from Washington, D.C. after making a truthful but critical statement about a United States Senator. So, back to Chicago she goes with much resentment for her boss, Elliot. Things change as Elliot has a plane crash and Kat begins to try to
work her way back to the events she wants to cover and deceptions she wants to uncover. Kat comes in contact with many individuals, Jack McKenna, Big John and Griff Topping and soon all these people's lives become together for one single cause. The truth.
The story takes many twists and turns and shockingly one event dating all the way back to 1963 to the present becomes very intertwined and needs to be settled once and for all.
The Munsons write from their vast knowledge of the Federal Prosecutors Office in Washington, D.C. and as an undercover DEA agent. The story is suspenseful without being immoral or full of obscene language. Keeps your interest and gives much food for thought regarding that fateful November 22, 1963, event.
Betty Anne Bantz4 Stars Out Of 5December 10, 2009Betty Anne BantzThis fast-paced political thriller is a captivating insider look into government intrigue. Diane and David Munsons expertise weaves true-to-life struggles within the justice systems with spiritual conflicts.Eva Montanna is too busy with her special assignment to the U.S. Senate to follow up on the unexpected callers plea: My life is in danger. Help free me, por favor. . . . Children, hundreds, maybe thousands, will die if I do nothing. Can you get me out? As a mother of three, she cant just do nothing, so she hands the Cuban prisoner case over to fellow CIA agent on her way to the senate hearing on terrorist threats from South America. Kat Kowicki, reporter for network television, believes Senator Zorns behind the scenes smear campaigns of the presidential candidates mask his own intentions to run, and she intends to expose him. She enlists Evas unsuspecting help in nailing him, and it backfires. So her boss demotes her to the Chicago station. In Chicago, Kat encounters never-before released evidence in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. And she gets caught up helping Big John McKenna, a retired Chicago policeman, who is bent on exposing the second shooter.Together with Big Johns son Jack they soon find that the Cuban prisoner case, the presidential campaign, and Kennedys assassination have a common denominator. This is a page-turner you wont want to miss.
breezie5 Stars Out Of 5August 11, 2009breezieI throughly enjoyed the third book in the Justice Series. Old friends from previous books were there but they were secondary to Kat and Jack. I loved the theme and all of the twists and turns in the book. I enjoy reading books in which the authors know what they are writing about. I cannot wait for the Munson's next book.

Tell us a little about yourself. David is a Christian and a retired Federal Agent. He retired from a career as a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, following five years of service in what is now called the NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigation Service). His coauthor and wife is Diane a Christian and attorney and former Federal prosecutor. We like to say that "He nailed them ... and she jailed them."
What was your motivation behind this project? It was our intention (with this and our other nine suspense thrillers) to write an entertaining and inspiring family friendly novel. The Camelot Conspiracy is an effort to provide a complex conspiracy (both in the present and the past) so that we can include some history in this thriller. While in college Diane wrote a complex paper about the Warren Commission report on President Kennedy's assassination. While a college student working for the FBI, David was able to read the FBI files about their investigation. In this novel Kat Kowicki, the TV reporter in some of our other thrillers, receives some new evidence in the long past assassination, and endures efforts to silence her findings.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? To be entertained, but also to be encouraged by seeing God's faithfulness exhibited in the lives of the Christian characters living out their lives in an environment filled with uncertainty and with people who do not share their faith.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This was our third novel and the reception from readers who wanted wholesome novels void of gratuitous sex, language, and violence, inspired us to keep writing.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: We refer to our books as "companion books" as each book stands alone, but the main characters reappear in the new books.
