Jack London (18761916) was a prolific American novelist and short story writer. His most notable works include White Fang, The Call of the Wild, and The Sea-Wolf. He was born in San Francisco, California. Gary Paulsen is one of the most honored writers of contemporary literature for young people. He has written more than two hundred books for adults and young people, and is the author of three Newbery Honor titles: Dogsong, Hatchet, and The Winter Room. He divides his time between New Mexico, Alaska, and on the Pacific.
