This is a heartwarming story with a baby to draw two people together that have denied a past love for each other. This book takes place in 1888 and you can envision the struggles of that time through the picture that Erica paints with her words. The characters are identifiable and the story engaging.

GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Protect the BabyFebruary 1, 2017GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love a good historical Western story and this one fit the bill with an interesting twist. I cannot recall ever reading a story about a bounty hunter losing the escaped outlaw he has been chasing and ending up with the outlaws baby. Quite a strange but fascinating turn of events! The story has romance, suspense, action, and a strong faith message wrapped up together. Thomas Beaufort is not the kind of bounty hunter typically found in Westerns. They are often portrayed as being not much better than the outlaws they pursue. Thomas, on the other hand, was a good Christian man who had seen his share of hard times and kept working to prove his worth and to build a better life for himself. Upon suddenly being faced with a newborn baby and a mother who died in childbirth, he knew he had to give the baby a fighting chance to live and become someone in spite of who the father was. Setting aside his manhunt, he took the newborn baby to Esther Jensen whom he knew from five years earlier when he worked on her fathers ranch. Wondering if she would help him, he was unprepared for what he found when he arrived at the ranch. The story grows in excitement and intensity as it progresses. I recommend the book to all who love good historical Western romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Conniet19825 Stars Out Of 55 stars! Another amazing book by Erica VetschFebruary 1, 2017Conniet1982Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What an amazing book!!! Erica Vetsch is a newer author to me and I can honestly say that she is becoming one of my favorite authors! Her writing style is one that flows easily. She peppers humor in with the story-line.
This book is set in Texas in 1888 - which is one of my most favorite time periods.
This book is a sweet story about a former beau needing the assistance of the girl that he once loved, but had left because her father did not think he was good enough. He goes out and becomes a bounty hunter and shows up at his former loves with a newborn baby.
Follow the story as the two struggle to care for the baby - until they can place the baby with family.
This is such a great story, and I really enjoyed reading it. If you have not discovered Erica's Books - I highly recommend this.
