Enthralling! One of the best books I've ever read, and I read a lot! This is the first book in the series where a boy called Alec Ramsay is returning from India on a ship. They pick the Black Stallian up on the way. There is a storm where they get shipwrecked on a deserted island. The story is about how they survive on the island, how they get back home and the outcome of a race. I want to read the rest of the series now. I am 9 years old.

I think this series is a beautiful picture of the Arabian horse, and how wonderful they are. Especially The Black Stallion. He is the beautiful black Arabian who Alek treasures above all else. Hes the fastest and strongest of all. The Black Stallion.
