We were shocked by how bad this DVD called 'The Bible' is. We had not seen any of the episodes when shown on TV, but, have seen Roma Downey and her husband interviewed by 'credible' people who recommended it. We were really excited to finally be able to purchase this as we expected to watch it more than once and share it with our family. It is an outrageous depiction of what is promoted as the 'spirit' of the Bible and is a serious perversion of God's Story of Redemption. I could not think of any reason why anyone would take God's Story and make such of mockery of it....why oh why did they find it necessary to take the true story and twist it into an unrecognizable stupid plot with 'ninja' style fighting by the angels who rescued Lot for just one of many .... We wish we could tell you of, at least, one inspiring scene, but alas, we bailed out when it got to Moses 'primping' with a mirror...
The best decision for us is to read God's Word for ourselves and let the Holy Spirit reveal the true meaning of this Book.
This mini-series was not worth watching. They changed the words of the Bible, which is blasphemy. I would have paid any amount for a true representation of the Word. Why they went to such an extent of exaggeration and untruths is beyond me, follow the Bible and it captivates even the most skeptical of people. This film was beyond disappointing. I could not ever recommend this to anyone because of the non scriptural additions made to the Word.
I am a youth minister. Sometimes just reading and having lessons from the Bible seems boring to them. Add this series in as we read the book that corresponds to the movie we are able to discuss easier. The movie just adds interest for the teens. Plus it is helping my 8 year old to understand what she is reading as well and I have something to refer back to her with when we have future discussions.
This movie definitely touched my life. In the scenes where Jesus walked the earth, this is the time where I wish I had of been able to witness this. The thought of being able to touch the hem of HIS garment. I loved the movie, and I would recommend this one to everyone.
