Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bears books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.
comfyreading5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful for ChildrenSeptember 24, 2016comfyreadingQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This little cook book was the perfect addition to our collection. As soon as we got it in the mail, my son and I flipped it open to see all the delicious treats we could make. To my surprise there are actually different sections in this book based on holidays, from Easter to Christmas, and I cannot wait until we can try out some of these yummy recipes. We are definitely going to start this Halloween! The Berenstain Bears Holiday Cookbook by Mike Berenstain is pure nostalgia for me, and fun new traditions for my child.
I love that the recipes are simple, yet ones that we will use. The recipes range from chicken, to juices and desserts. There are also real pictures to show you what the recipes should look like, and since there are 40 recipes, you cant go wrong if you create one for each holiday!
I give this sweet cookbook 5 out of 5 stars, I love the Berenstain Bears so much, and I cannot wait to tuck into one of these delicious meals. I received this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review. I apologize for the length of this review, but its just so straight forward I think anyone would have fun with this!
Lyndsey5 Stars Out Of 5GREAT beginning cook book!September 6, 2016LyndseyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Of course, I am a HUGE Berenstain Bear fan! Even so, this is a super fun cookbook that is perfect for kids. It is fun to look through together and enjoy the excerpts from BB books and the illustrations. The recipes are simple; some just require assembling and not cooking. It would make a great gift for a beginning cook or family who enjoy being in the kitchen together. I loved how it was organized by holiday as it made an extra fun touch to the book. I would highly recommend this book! *This book was provided to me from Booklook in exchange for my honest review.

I'm using this in my home school for home ec. My daughter made the fruit salad pictured above for a church potluck (and introduced church kids to kiwi, since they never had it or heard of it), the hot cocoa for a fun treat one day, and the pizza below for lunch yesterday. Both girls enjoyed using this, and would recommend it to homeschool moms and grandmas, Berenstain Bear fans and cookbook collectors. Makes a nice holiday gift for your favorite beginning cook! Colorful and friendly. Highly recommended. 5 stars.
Helen MAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Totally Awesome Cook BookAugust 29, 2016Helen MAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Berenstain Bears' Holiday Cookbook by Mike Berenstain is a totally awesome cookbook to use when cooking or baking with children. The book is broken up into 6 sections, Valentine's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Fall Festivities, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each section has six to eight recipes geared just for that time of year. The recipes consist of snacks, desserts drinks and meal options. Some of the recipes are what children can do by them selves but most are for helping a parent.
This is such a nice book! I wish I had it when my children were little. But I am looking forward to using it with my grandchildren. This is a hard covered book with shinny paper pages. I appreciate the cute stories, that start with a bible verse to correspond with the holiday, at the beginning of each section in which the bears talk about their favorite foods. Many of the meal options are recipes that are used year round, such as potatoes, salads, soups and sandwiches. This is a book that could quickly become the go to cookbook that will help develop a life time of traditions for families. The book is published for ages 4 8 years of age, but I feel it would be equally fun for all ages. Anyone who has grown up with the Berestain Bears will have fun with this book.

It is written and illustrated by Mike Berenstain - the son of Stan and Jan Berenstain, who we all remember from our own childhoods, and those of our children. I remember reading them to my little boys, and when they started reading them to me. Now, there are new ones that I enjoy reading to my grandchildren so exciting.
I am SO excited to start making these recipes, MYSELFBut, they are recipes that can be done with children. They are fun, for different holidays. Hes included Valentines Day, Easter, July 4th, Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. My favorite is the CARROT CHIPS in Eastercant wait to make them! There are so many more! I like that Mike has written a devotion for each holiday, too. Oh! And, at the end, hes included a table of kitchen measurements and metric conversions.
I LOVE this and would recommend it as a fun tool to spend special time with your kids and grandkids!! REALLY FUN!!
