This was a great cook book that my soon to be 3 year old really enjoyed. He loved looking at the variety of photos that was with each recipe as well as the drawings on every page. He also liked reading the short little story thats woven in before each category of recipes.

As a Mom I liked this cook book too. I really love the simplicity of it. Each recipe has a fantastic picture of the dish and has a good break down of instructions that little ones can understand. There only seems to be a handful of recipes that I felt were a little too hard to make with young ones. I also liked how it has a Grace Before Meals page and kitchen measurements.

Overall, this is a cook book I would recommend to families who have little ones at home that want to help cook. Its colorful, fun, and easy!

This great new cookbook for kids by Mike Berenstain features the beloved bear family created by his parents, Stan and Jan Berenstain. Full-color illustrations accompany the delectable photos of tasty treats. The hardcover book is divided into four sections: breakfast, lunch, main dishes, and desserts & snacks. Forty recipes offer a variety of fun and healthy choices, most needing the assistance of an adult as the subtitle, Cub-Friendly Cooking with an Adult, makes clear. The food looks so appealing I want to try some of the selections myself, with or without a little friend. I recommend this treasure trove of feasting favorites to families with children from preschool on up.

This is a bright, colorful cookbook is packed with all the Berenstain Bear characters children love, has 40 kid-friendly recipes with colorful photos, has an interesting section on honey, and offers brief, less-than-a-page vignettes of the Bear family in each section. (For example, the cookbook begins with an illustration of the Bear family, and Mama Bear telling Brother and Sister how important breakfast is. She encourages them to come into the kitchen with her and help make the meal...then the section on breakfast recipes begins.)

There are recipes for scones shaped like bear heads, berry crepes, "tasty toboggans" (French toast with two pieces of bacon, placed on the plate to look like a sled), lettuce wraps, mini pizzas made with French bread, shepherd's pie, corn on the cob, enchiladas, quesadillas, kebobs, applesauce, banana pops, blueberry pie, and race car cookies. Some recipes are very simple (fruit salad, spinach salad, banana and peanut butter sandwiches), while others are for older children - or children who have more help from an adult (green noodle lasagna, grilled chicken with carrots). In other words, theres a nice variety of recipes a little something for everyone!
