We all seek a sense of inner peace. We all get distracted and get stressed and the reality is that these are troubled times. Yet, while troubles and the times persist, the constant is the unimaginable love that is Jesus Christ. In looking at the Beatitudes, as Jesus so beautifully spoke them, I reflected on their impact on me and how they have given me peace in a closer feeling to Jesus. Perhaps we will share these ideas or maybe they will be a catalyst for discussion. In any event I hope that through looking at Jesusa words from a perspective of one who is seeking knowledge too, we can see them and appreciate them at a more intimate level. The Beatitudes, like the Bible, represent a wonderful love story. A story where the greatest power who ever existed created in us a free will. This free will has continually hurt our Lord and He cries out, Why do you not love me? In this pain, He loves us still. He finds us worthy of His love and to this He provides His only Son as a sacrifice for our sin. The speaker of the Beatitudes knew His fate and that those to whom He was speaking would kill Him. Yet amidst this, He speaks to our blessings and His love for us. He knows of our failures and He knows He will rise to glory through this process.
