This is not your typical dry memoir. This book has personality, feeling, and so much more. The first chapter draws you into Alexandra's life, and you want to learn more. While her life is different in so many ways than mine, her feelings questions about life are universal. This memoir is easy for a busy mom to read - the chapters are short enough to be read in those few moments you have alone - yet it keeps you wanting to read more. Truly a touching, heartfelt story. I highly recommend this book for every woman.
I truly appreciate the author's complete honesty in this book. Though Alex's story is unique and her own, the book captures so many feelings and moments that all women can relate to. Her reflections on how her past affected her, not only as a young girl, but also as a woman, wife, mother, and friend helped shine a light of awareness in my own life.
Once I started reading this book I could not put it down, and I plan to read it again! I have more than 20 bookmarks in this book marking the sections that I know I need to go back through and really take time to process and digest. I highly recommend this book for all women and mothers out there, you will not be disappointed!
I was eager to dive into Alexandra's book. I enjoy connecting with other mothers through their motherhood experience. This book was more! It was a way to realize that we each have God working in our lives sometimes in similar ways and other times, differently. Her experiences may be unique at times, but as a mom I could relate and truly felt more connected to other mothers through reading this book. If you are wondering how to overcome your past by reaching forward to your future, this book will share that sentiment with you. A wonderful read for any mother!
Couldn't put this book down...I laughed, I cried, and I reflected on my own life. Such a "real" story of God's love and faithfulness. This book will be an important part of my MOPS calendar/meeting plan for next year. I highly recommend this book.
