Tell us a little about yourself. I am a licensed and ordained Minister of the Gospel faithfully serving New Church of the Living God, under Pastor James E. Johnson since 2009. I have spoken at various community events as the National Day of Prayer Services, Dr. Martin Luther King National Day Observances; Sundown Salute (Annual 4th of July celebration) and have had speaking invitations from other churches in the community I reside. I am an active member of the Geary County Ministerial Association; while still an active service member of the United States Army with over 22 years of experience. I am a father, husband and son given an awesome responsibility that I was hesitant to partake but I am a better man because of all.
What was your motivation behind this project? My life decisions, trials, problems, circumstance, blessings, curses. I mean all things leading up to the moment I decided placing my thoughts in this form helped define me and then my initial denial of writing the book. It took the words of a Pastor visiting our church whom I had never met to ask me about the book and writing as I hadn't shared it with anyone, for me to say yes. It was so profound that I could no longer deny that I was purposed to pen this book before the end of 2012.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? With the call placed on my life, I am flawed, not perfect and want all to know that through the trials, persecutions, worries, fears, doubts and words spoken against you; through those imperfections that we serve a loving, merciful and graceful God who will bring to pass the plans He laid for our lives. He allows us to endure so that we may learn to love and bless others, to give them hope, peace, show love and lead them to Our Heavenly Father.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This project came at a point in my life that I wanted to give up but had to endure and STAND. I learned a new definition of why we go through and who it's meant for and that not all of it is really meant to hurt or harm us but come out of decisions and are consequential of disobedience.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have been mentored by Pastors, Elders, Evangelists, Prophets, Apostles and Bishops from all over the world. I have studied books of faith and miracles from Smith Wigglesworth, Lester Sumerall, TL Lowery, TF Tenney, James B. Carr, Derek Prince and TD Jakes to name a few. My most profound revelation comes from seeking Him through the Word of God as given from the Bible, (Kings James Version). If we humbly seek we will always find the inspiration to achieve and become more than what we are told we are.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I pray readers are drawn to a deeper relationship with Our Heavenly Father through the moments shared in my life and are immediately touched by the Holy Spirit so moving them to listen to anticipate and accept whatever God is calling them to do.
