SusanChaptico, MD5 Stars Out Of 5Sweet Amish RomancesDecember 21, 2018SusanChaptico, MDQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What could be sweeter than assorted chocolates on Valentine's Day? How about novellas by three fantastic Amish romance authors? Each can be read independently of the other, but would you really want to choose one M&M, one jellybean or one little heart-shaped chocolate when you could eat the whole bag? So treat yourself--skip the candy and read all three stories instead. Then you won't have to beat yourself up for over indulging!!
Bluebird, Pennsylvania is a small town with quaint shops that cater to Amish and English customers. Who wouldn't love the home-made candy in Beechy's Sweets, the hand-stitched quilts in Bluebird Quilts, or all the gadgets and gizmos in Howard's Hardware?
In Emma Miller's story, The Sweetest Courtship, bachelor Jacob Beechy makes some of the best candy around. His mother believes it's well past time for her son to give her grandchildren. She convinces Jacob he needs help in the store while she is away. Without his knowledge, she interviews candidates for a suitable wife as she screens job applicants. Has Jacob met his match when Rose Bontrager is hired?
Sadie Fischer, Laura Bradford's heroine in The Sweetest Truth, suffered severe burns in a barn fire. The resulting facial scars convince her that no man will ever want to marry her--not even kind, handsome Amos Yoder. So who is leaving her gifts outside The Bluebird Quilt Shop where she works?
Hannah Klein is not the typical Amish young woman. She and her husband live in Bluebird and have been working to save money for a farm. But Hannah finds she enjoys working in Howard's Hardware Store much more than working on a farm. When her husband is killed in an accident, Hannah decides she wants to purchase the store from the retiring owners to allow her to provide for herself and her unborn child. But Hannah only has half the money required for a down payment. She will only be allowed to form a partnership with Seth Miller, the other potential buyer, if he can clear his name and if he returns to the Amish faith. Will Hannah be able to piece together the clues to help Seth resolve his past? Will their partnership be a strictly business one?
All three novellas are expertly written and combine elements of faith, hope, and love. You will be pulled into each story right from the beginning and will have a hard time leaving the characters behind when you've turned the last page of each one. If you want fast-paced stories, lovable characters, and a truly heart-warming experience, you can't go wrong with The Amish Sweet Shop. Thank you Emma, Laura, and Mary for three amazing, unforgettable stories!
