Obviously, Bodie and Brock Thoene are deeply spiritual people; anyone who has read a number of their books recognizes that! And we certainly do not know how many Christians and groups have been blessed by the study material. I too found it a little difficult to get into this book of the series, but in sticking with it, I was very much blessed. My only fear is that we won't have MANY, MANY more books in this wonderful A.D. Chronicles series...
Cheryl Williams1 Stars Out Of 5December 29, 2009Cheryl WilliamsI have loved this series until I read this book. The least of my dislikes is the book was too short. Looks are deceiving. A significant part of the book is a study section. An obvious attempt to prolong the series for profit. What I found offensive is the sterotypical portrayal of the slave, Lono. The Thoenes have him speaking in the vernacular assigned to black american slaves. I felt like I was reading "Gone With The Wind". It is an unecessary and insulting portrayal. It was difficult for me to finish the book. I tried to overlook it and focus on the storyline but even the depth of that was diminished in this book. I would like to finish the series but seeing the pattern of decline, I don't want to purchase any other book by these authors. This book is such a decline in the quality that I have come to expect from these authors. I truly hope somehow they soon realize how poor their product has become.
Janice Magill4 Stars Out Of 5September 10, 2009Janice MagillThe beginning was a little hard to get into this time, but once I got going I couldn't put it down. I read it in 2 1/2 days!!! So loved it! I have all the books in the series from the beginning. It has helped me to really understand the world my mum & dad grew up in and how the war affected us today. If only we would take these lessons and act on them. I can't wait to buy the next one this month. Its my treat to me!

This just drags it out and costs so much more. Now they are coming out with an 11th book. I'm through buying these even though I enjoyed the series (until this one as it took half the book to start flowing). Finish the series already and stop milking it for money, money, money.
Jill S Jones5 Stars Out Of 5July 4, 2009Jill S JonesThe whole series is absolutely wonderful! You get a true feeling of being there in Jesus's time. I feel I know the characters and always look for the next book! Fascinating details about life in those days. It is obvious much research has gone into the Thoene's writings.
