Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Stephanie, owner of Bible Story Map LLC. My company was founded in 2015 and my first poster was the Bible Story Map. All six posters that I've created are for kids, they are educational, simplified, easy to read, easy to understand, have cute illustrations and have attractive colors. My background is in elementary education, I've lived in 3 different countries and I presently live in Michigan with my husband and four children.
What was your motivation behind this project? After going on a Bible Study Tour to Israel and Jordan, I felt passionate about making a Bible Map visual for kids to help them understand the Holy Land. I also wanted a map to help my kids remember where they had been in Israel and I wanted to make a map as a gift to others that may not have the opportunity to go to Israel. After the maps success and the encouragement of customers and friends, I felt compelled to create even more kid-friendly posters.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that kids will understand the Bible more in ways that they can learn and remember.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I realized how many people are also visual learners and need to see graphs, charts, timelines and illustrations in order to understand the stories fully. From all the positive feedback I've gotten, sales and international interest, I really feel like I'm helping to fill a void in Children's ministry resources.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My inspiration is my children and my passion to help all children learn the Bible in ways that they can understand. The Bible shouldn't be confusing or boring, it should be understandable, approachable, exciting and clear. I also want to provide resources to children's ministry leaders in the form of wall charts and maps so they can not only decorate their rooms but have educational material to use during bible lessons.
