I love love loved her first few series and the last couple of series I have enjoyed but not quite as much but this book I loved just as much as those early ones such as Guardians of Justice. I can't even tell you exactly what was different. If you enjoy christian suspense then this one better be on your list!
Dana Lewis had a high power job in a large editing firm in New York but after a traumatic incident leaves her nerves in shatters she leaves that life and seeks solace in the quiet cabin her grandparents left her upon their deaths. She spent many summers at the cabin with them and in the small community nearby. She is planning to continue to work freelance from there and make some decisions about her life. Quiet and solitude quickly lose their appeal when it appears someone is out to make her leave the area. Thankfully her new neighbour in the next cabin over steps in to help her figure out who is behind the vandalism on her property ... and to help her heal from the terror of her ordeal in New York.

Finn McGregor, the youngest of the almost mythical McGregor brothers, has had his six-year Army Ranger career ended by a traumatic accident. Recovering from PTSD and attempting to return to his previous physical condition without the interference of his big brothers, Finn has rented an isolated cabin in the woods. Hoping for peace, he is startled to hear a woman screaming and screaming in the night. Instincts kicking into action, hes out of the cabin and following the scream. Bursting into a neighboring cabin, he startles awake its resident, Dana Lewis, and truly terrifies her.
Dana, recovering from a trauma of her own, is not sure about this new neighbor, but there is electricity other than fear between them. Smitten with the pretty neighbor, Finn offers first to repair the door he broke and then finds other chores to keep him near.
Meanwhile, the sheriff in town has been presented with a huge temptation. Keeping his Alzheimers afflicted wife in the best care facility around has bankrupted him. The manager is threatening to evict his wife and the sheriff is at his wits end. He and the resident bad boy, a meth cooker, cross paths which weave them together in a tangled fashion. Seems the meth lab is close to Danas cabin and he is trying to chase/frighten her away.
What will Finn and Dana do about the disturbing incidents that keep happening around Danas cabin? Will the sheriff return to the straight path? What about that electricity? And will the older McGregor brothers be able to stay out of the mix?

Summary: I found the book a bit slow for me. I usually love Irene Hannon books, this time I struggled to get through it at times. Dana was a unique character and her back story was interesting. Finn seemed a little flat, at the start, after all the build of from the other books. I wished I was more engrossed in the story line. It was only at the end that I found the twist at the end very exciting. The ending made the entire book worth it.

Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Such a Good Story!November 22, 2016Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This was a great book! It was so nice to read Finns story. Tangled Webs is the third book in the Men of Valor series, and Finns older brothers from books one and two do enter the novel a few times. But no need to worry if you havent read the first two books. Tangled Webs can be read as a stand alone.
I really liked these two main characters. Finn and Dana were fun to read about right from the start. They were both characters who could read a situation and know when not to push farther. They both also had things that were traumatic in their pasts which they had to work on opening up about. I just loved the way their relationship developed and watching as they grew closer to each other with every passing day.
The villains were believable. I thought the author did an excellent job of showing the situations that these people were in and what brought them to the point in life they felt that their actions were necessary.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
