Tracey Bateman pulls it off very well, and without being overly dramatic. Vampires, obsession, addiction, romance, mystery, suspense, redemption, Thirsty has it all, including an ending I never saw coming.
Tandem surprised me with every twist in the plot. Even after reading Thirsty, I could not imagine what would happen next. And I was stunned by the ending.
While the books are not "preachy" or particularly deep theologically, the tale has me thinking seriously about what redemption really means.
greetinggirl66Poplar Grove, ILAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5This is an interesting book.January 10, 2011greetinggirl66Poplar Grove, ILAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I read the book" Tandem "and was surprised to find that it dealt with the paranormal. It is unusual to find this genre written from a Christian perspective but this author does a good job dealing with the paranormal and Christianity.
The story revolves around Lauryn McBride and her relationship with her father afflicted with Alzheimer's. It also adds a second main character in the person of Amede Dastillion who is searching for her long lost sister, Eden. Their stories are told in tandem with the paranormal providing the surprises along the way.
I would recommend this book for those who enjoy the paranormal woven together with the realities of everyday life. The surprises woven into the story will keep you reading until they are all resolved in the end.
This book was provided to me free of charge from the publishers Waterbrook Multnomah for review purposes.
