Brooke: When I read the Ten Myths that opened the book, I was completely hooked. The statistics are interesting and fresh. I also related to the problem that sets up the book: "Which parts of me should I cut out?" As I read, I could see myself in the Marcuss big-picture analysis and statistics. The early part of the book made me anticipate a breakthrough. And Marcus delivered. Overall, he explains a woman's dilemma perfectly . . . in fresh terms with a unique spin. The main ideas in each chapter were so engaging. Chapter 6 in particular is worth the price of the book. I have already started looking for strong moments in my life, and I want to tell every woman I know to do the same. It is definitely life-changing.
Rebecca: It was really good. It was awesome. And to be honest, perfect timing for my life. I'm REALLY in that place. I can't tell you how badly I've been depressed for the last several months just trying to figure out what to do differently so I'm not so miserable. On one hand, I'm grateful I have a job still. I have a mortgage and bills and all that. But on the other hand...I can't continue to work at a job that gets me nowhere, is not rewarding, not challenging, and mentally drains me. I really have started avoiding my family because I've become so rude and snippy. It's a bad cycle. BUT...God willing this year (sooner than later) I will be able to put this behind me and do what I love :) Even if it's making half as much money. Thanks for thinking of me to read this. I needed it!
Delaney: I was on a plane as I finished reading the manuscript. I was going to be with my daughter who is a law student. As I finished the pages, Marcus helped me gain a new understanding of myself that stood out like a neon sign: I am the person who helps others build infrastructure, get through situations ,and set everything right. It goes beyond motherhood. I am an event planner by birth. I see big pictures and the components necessary to get from vision to execution. The content helped me to reframe my own thinking. Very helpful. Im excited to take the online test and see which role I'm born to play.
Jennifer: As a working mother, I found the concept of the book fascinating. There are daily struggles of trying to balance being the perfect wife, mother, and employee, and the book helped me truly understand how to navigate all those demands.

Kim ThomasIndianapolisAge: 45-54Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5a little disappointingFebruary 24, 2011Kim ThomasIndianapolisAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2I bought this for my 23y/o daughter, who is finding her way in the professional world....I was disappointed that there was little real emphasis on the role of the Holy Spirit in a woman's "success." I expected more of this from a book promoted by CB.
All the practical issues were well addressed...very good advice, but little acknowledgement to a Father who wants more for our daughters than we (or they!) do.
Nothing "wrong" with anything the author had to say...practical advice. But because there was little credence given to the Lord's plans for our successes, I felt compelled to write a note to my daughter, inside the cover, to remember to "seek the Lord first, and He will give you success."
Noelle Mena4 Stars Out Of 5October 5, 2009Noelle MenaI already knew Marcus from a previous book I had read of his called, Now Discover Your Strengths. I have always been one that says, 'Soar With Your Strengths' instead of focusing on fixing what your weaknesses. Both of these books help you to discover those strengths, maybe you did not even realize you had. I skipped through a lot of the statistics/ female paradox info, I did not really care about any of that. I found Marcus does not speak to the stay at home full time mom at all. Although I, a homeschooler & work at home mom, could still find myself in there between the lines. I always like to hear a new perspective when its coming from someone as experienced as Marcus with Strength Assessment. So this book was a great choice for me!
Kelly Harbaugh4 Stars Out Of 5October 4, 2009Kelly HarbaughI was very skeptical when I first saw this book. Who was this sleek-looking guy telling women how to be happy and successful? Is this a message that a Christian woman would even take seriously? It looked like a catchy money-making scam to me.I'm glad that I decided to read it. I was touched by the very high level of respect that Marcus has for women, and the deep understanding he has of the conflicts that we face. This book was very refreshing. No assumptions, no myths, no checklist on how to "balance" your life. This is a researched, honest look at how to find our God-given strengths and use that information to approach decisions in our life. Women are discovering that "balance" is a myth and a burden. Marcus gives direction on how to "intentionally imbalance" our lives and be confident in those decisions. He gives a new definition to "having it all."If you ever struggle in navigating all of the choices available to women today, I would definitely recommend reading this book.
