It also includes Stories and Wisdom from Willie Robertson.
Korie has written this book because she believes that What America needs today are parents who dont just say they value these virtues but who live them and passionately and boldly teach them to their children. She begins the book by explaining that she was asked a question as a young mother, What are two important character traits that you want to see in your children? She answered strong and kind. This book helps parents to understand why it is important to teach children Biblical character traits. In addition to strong and kind, she includes self-control, honesty, compassion, patience, joyfulness, loyalty, and humility.
This is a wonderful book with practical advice from parents who have a wealth of experience. Their willingness to share these experiences in order to assist other parents in instilling Biblical values in their children is commendable. I especially liked the section on honesty, which included this quote: We must train our children to be honest and teach them that dishonesty brings painful consequences. Being honest might make us uncomfortable for a few minutes, but it leads to much greater rewards.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is attempting to influence children toward Biblical character traits.
I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
mom3waysGreenfield, INAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great for Parents!February 20, 2016mom3waysGreenfield, INAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0If you are looking for an encouraging book on parenting, I highly recommend purchasing this book. Korie Robertson and her mother have written a great book on character qualities any parent would want their children to possess. There are nine specific traits included, then there are ways to carry these out in parenting. As a mom of three boys, I know how hard it can be to be a parent, but I am thankful for resources like this book. I hope I can do as good a job raising my children as this book suggests!

Unlike other parenting books, this one isn't filled with big psychological words or medical jargon but rather it is filled with real life experiences, personal stories you can easily relate to, and the best parenting guidebook of all, the Bible.
Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Something for parents to truly considerFebruary 2, 2016Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In this book Korie details Strong & Kind, the two character traits that she and Willie decided they wanted to pass on to their children. They agreed while their children was young that they wanted them to be strong to endure in this world and to be kindhearted people.
And in that choice came the realization that you cannot want to develop those traits in your children without developing & living them out yourself. It is ever so important to make sure that whatever character trait you choose to develop in your children that you LIVE THEM.
The book is awesome because it doesn't just focus on those two character traits but many character traits and the living those traits out as parents. Because as most of parents have realized its a "monkey see monkey do" world not a "monkey say monkey do" world.
