Strangers in the Night weaves in local scenery and artistic pursuits with danger and suspense. I love the idea of resurrecting an old town and the mystery lurking there.
Abbie has tried to protect her daughter, Emma, since Abbie escaped her late husband's family. So why does she give in when Jake, a real estate agent, finds her and convinces her to move back to Oregon? Is he what he seems or could he be involved in some plot? Two women are already dead, and Abbie doesn't want to become the next victim. Yet she feels drawn to this handsome stranger.
Patricia Rushford weaves an intriguing story that makes readers want more.

Rushford. The book was a great combination of romance and mystery and kept me turning the pages.
For two years, Abbie Campbell and her young daughter, Emma, have been in hiding. Then one day a handsome stranger shows up and explains that her parents have sent him to bring the two of them home. Jake Conners fulfills his mission, and Abbie and Emma are reunited with Abbie's family. Abbie's parents ask her to help them convert an old town into a retreat for artists. Being an artist herself, this is a dream come true. But the threat of her past, an unsolved crime and a recent murder overshadow this dream--as well as the hope of a new-found love. Abbie is determined not to run away again, but she soon finds both she and Emma are in danger from an unknown murderer.
I love a mystery that I can't figure out right away. This book kept me guessing up to the end. Strangers in the Night by Patricia H. Rushford is an enjoyable mix of mystery and romance. I highly recommend it.
