Storm Warning is the first book in Elizabeth Goddard's newest series, Hidden Bay.

Remi has been at Cedar Trails Lodge for several years. She first visited there after a traumatic experience (that she can't remember), and loved it so much she decided to relocate there. Cedar Trails Lodge is remote, with no wi-fi and very limited cell service. It is the perfect place to go and hide.

"The angry ocean had boiled below her, stirring the driftwood into a soupy, deadly mess."

Cedar Trails Lodge was suggested to Hawk by a former commander and mentor after experiencing a horrendous event. He has barely arrived when he rescues Remi from a near-death experience.

"He needed some perspective on his own dark secrets-the treacherous self-imposed mission to find a rogue agent and assassin before it was too late-but shoot if he wasn't inexplicably drawn to someone else's trouble."

Several storms brewing in this story, and not all are related to the weather! I was immediately sucked into the story and I did not want to put the book down. The action was nonstop, with the storm building, it was hard for Remi to find a safe spot to land. The revelations were shocking, the danger was hard to ignore, and the ending was incredible. It was fascinating to see how everything came together. I can't wait to read Jo's story in the next book.

If you enjoy more suspense than romance, the amnesia trope (only one event, not her entire life), and a plotline that will keep you guessing, I highly recommend Storm Warning. This one gets all my stars.

I loved this book filled with lots of action and suspense and romance. I could not put this book down as I got to know Remi and Hawk. I loved the twists and turns as a major storm hits and Remi and Hawk have to find ways to survive the storm and the person out to get them. I loved all the secrets that they both must face. I received a copy of the book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Hidden Bay is a place for people to go to get away from trouble that is following them. A place off the grid where the conveniences we use that tracks us can no longer. Or so that is what Remi is hoping as she tries to remember the missing parts of her memory that have been blocked off to her. She really wants to remember as someone else is sending her literal puzzle pieces trying to jog her memory for her. And is this the same person who keeps trying to harm her? All Remi knows is she thought she was safe at Hidden Bay, and given enough time and peace, she might have remembered. Now she is running for her life with a hero turned bodyguard she just met and doesn't even know she can completely trust.

Enter Hawk Beckett who remembers his past but would like to escape it. When he first saves Remi, he notices that the evidence seems to add up to foul play and not an accident. There is something about her that intrigues him so much that he doesn't mind keeping an eye on her. Unfortunately, as they find out, they are more connected than ever. Every one of them, including the other employees and all of the visitors and even the town.

This story started off right away as an explosive beginning right into the whole series. There is a lot going on, plenty of danger and many moving parts. I liked seeing how it all flowed together. I am really looking forward to this whole series. I think this is author Goddard's best book yet.

Remi Grant currently works at a lodge, she arrived 2 years ago after her psychologist gave Remi her reservation for a 2 week vacation after an emergency in the doctor's family prevented her from going. At the end of the 2 weeks Remi decided she did not want to leave and the lodge had an opening for a job, two years later she is the manager of the property. Before she arrived at the lodge Remi had been found in the middle of the ocean but she could not remember how she ended up in the ocean. Her doctor had hoped the memories would come back once she had the time to relax but so far they had not.

Hawk Beckett is a helicopter pilot with his own helicopter and is hoping when he speaks with the manager of the lodge that he will be able to show her the value of helicopter tours. Hawk was here at the suggestion of a friend, to come and process all that had happened on his previous job. He had been a cop and a horrible accident happened and he lost his partner. Hawk's friend knew he needed to take time to process it all and would not be able to do that unless he was able to get away.

Remi and Hawk had built up some walls due to their traumas but as they get to know each other ( while on the run), they begin to feel those walls crumble. Will they be able to let God heal their hearts? Will they be able to forgive those who had hurt them?

I loved reading this book which was the start to a new series called Hidden Bay. There were so many unexpected twists and turns with lots of mystery and suspense, I loved it! Once I started reading, I couldnt put it down.

Both Remi and Hawk find themselves at the same lodge in Washington state, one is trying to forget the past, the other one is desperately trying to remember. I really liked both of the main characters. They were both strong and determined, along with helping each other to figure out who was targeting them and wanted them dead.

If you like on the edge of your seat, clean Christian fiction you will love this new book and series! I found it inspirational and intriguing! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
