Publisher's Description

A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community and among the missing are not only a group of students but PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved--and lost--walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine.

A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn't expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked--no, ran--from over a year ago. She had her reasons--good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn't the kind of man to give up--not on the missing students, or on her.

Life and love hang in the balance in Susan May Warren's breathless story of holding on to hope during a deadly summer of storms.

If you've never yelled at or with fictional characters, then you've been reading the wrong books!

Join this Mountain Rescue Team of heroes who place their lives on the line to save others, yet have deep-seeded pain and relationship struggles. Susan May Warren writes with such depth that you may forget that these men and women are not flesh and blood.

In this 5th edition of the series, Ty and Brette confront each other, severe weather challenges plus the aftermath as well as their own core turmoil. In fact, they are not the only ones facing intense obstacles to peace and a better life. Often, we are our own worst enemies. Several key characters come to terms with life and their Creator.

I received a copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.

Ty Remington is perhaps the sweetest, most sincere hero I've met thus. First, his steadfast love for Brette comes through in so many ways. The way he gently coaxes her to face her fears, his enduring patience as he waits for her to share her heart, and the strength he displays in vowing to stand with her through whatever trials she may face are just a few examples. His love for her is a beautiful picture of true devotion and commitment. The plot surrounding the tornadoes also serves as a platform to highlight his deep compassion for others and the deep roots of his faith. Other secondary plots and character cameos added more juice to the story as the reader is updated on the status of both Ian and Sierra's and Sam and Willow's relationships, with a significant secondary plot that included a changing dynamic between Ben and Kacey. Glimpses of Pete and Jess's "romance in question" surface throughout the story, too, with a bite-your-nails cliffhanger ending the novel. This book was jam packed with danger and excitement (in true Warren fashion) from page one all the way to the end!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. A review was not required but was voluntary and contains my own thoughts and opinions.

Storm Front, the latest tale in Susan May Warren's Montana Rescue series, tells you more about the life of Ty Remington, the man who cannot seem to find his place in this world. Ty was formerly the Peak Rescue team pilot; however, after a grave mistake on the job, he now fills whatever job needs to be tackled by team. When the team learns that Chet, the team leader, is missing following a massive tornado in Minnesota, they immediately jump into action and head toward the scene!

Brette Arnold originally met Ty and several others on the Peak team, when she came to Montana to ski with her friend Ella Blair. Now, she has moved on from working as a freelance writer to taking photographs of tornadoes, as a part of a storm chasing team. This latest tornado has touched the life of her team captain, Jonas Marshall, as well. His younger brother, Creed, is missing!

This is a fast paced tale, as these two teams join together to search for people lost in the storm. In the midst of it all, Ty and Brette must deal with hurt feelings from their past, when Brette ran away from Ty, after she was informed of her diagnosis of breast cancer!

Hang on to see how God changes the lives of both Ty and Brette, by the end of this tale. It is interesting to see how God shows up in the lives of so many characters in this story. You will see several team members from previous books in the Montana Rescue series: Ben King, Gage Watson, Ian Shaw and Pete Brooks. You will even get a glimpse of the next book in this fast-paced series!

As always, Susan May Warren didn't disappoint. This story focuses on Ty and Brette. Brette disappears from Ty's life and he never found out. Now that they meet up again Ty means to find out. Ty is still struggling with the issues that led up to him crashing the helicopter and left him with busted knees and his mentors injuries. Ty also has to control issues. Brette doesn't want anyone controlling her life. She is doing just fine on her own. All of this is taking place while they are searching for Chet and several teenagers missing from a massive tornado that went through town.

I loved this book and recommend it to everyone. Anxious to read Pete's story next.

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I started this series, I assumed that all of the rescues would take place in the mountains of Montana but that has not been the case. In this story, the PEAK team is searching an area after a severe tornado.

Journalist Brette returns to the series as a storm chaser photographer and blogger. Her own brush with death has changed her outlook on life drastically. Her extreme negativity and refusal to believe anything good could ever happen to her was difficult to relate to or enjoy. Thankfully, she encounters Ty again and he challenges her "Don't let your circumstances tell you who God is. Let who God is tell you how to deal with your circumstances" (location 1909). Our troubles would look a lot different if we really got this. I'm going to write it down somewhere permanent.

Ty has always been a bit of a mystery, almost too good to be true. It was nice to learn what is behind his intense desire to help others and why he has a hard time believing he can really make a difference. I found myself cheering him on.

The hardest things about this story is the ending. It made me want to read the next book RIGHT NOW. I can't wait to get back to Jess and Pete's story and hear what Jess' last year has been like. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.
