Jeremy Wootten5 Stars Out Of 5June 22, 2009Jeremy WoottenThis review was written for Battlefields & Blessings: Stories of Faith and Courage from the Civil War.This book has been an enjoyable daily read. Blending historical insight and spiritual truth, it is truly a reminder from the voices of the past to keep pressing on for Christ. Even if history is not your favorite subject, the author brings out the characters from the past, and enables them to teach us how to follow Christ today.

Russell5 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2007RussellThis review was written for Battlefields & Blessings: Stories of Faith and Courage from the Civil War.This book is excellent! Tuley brings forth faith examples of both northern and southern men and women who exemplified strong Christian faith during a very dark time in American history. Tuley's treatment of the remarkable faith of these "Christian Soldiers" stir the heart and inspire the Christian to draw near to the Lord.

Stacy Mccann4 Stars Out Of 5August 30, 2007Stacy MccannThis review was written for Battlefields & Blessings: Stories of Faith and Courage from the Civil War.On the contrary to other viewers who may have not read the entire book, it does NOT spiritualize atrocities. Tuley uncovers several letters from generals in the civil war who despised the war and called it "judgment on the United States for it's allowance of a horrid sin such as slavery". The sinful heart of man is universal, and the grace of God softens and deepens faith despite the horrors of any age, specificially this dark period in America's heritage. It's a well done insight into how people from another time dealt with horror and pain: a universal transcendent evil man has suffered since the days of Adam. A very good read that puts suffering into perspective under God's perfect plan.
