It's a hard cover with really nice pages within. I was really, really impressed when I received it in the mail. Means that it will last for many years without getting dog-eared.
In addition, I appreciated the short devotions followed by a suggested brief prayer. For lives that are super busy, I thought this was a perfect way to get a morsel of God in and a moment of family time. It's a great way to grow together as a family, learning along the way.
The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book or advanced reading copy.
beanderson4 Stars Out Of 5Stop and GoMay 28, 2019beandersonStop-and-Go Devotionalprovides short, active devotions based on Bible stories, designed for busy families with preschoolers and primary-grade children. Written by bestselling author Diane Stortz, this to-the-point, interactive devotional gives bite-size teachings on how to follow God.
These are age appropriate devotions that are written for small children. There is a story, think and talk section, and an activity along with a short prayer and Bible verse. The illustrations are fun to look at and go along with the devotional.
This devotional book was designed for the family on the go. My children love this colorful book and love to learn more about God. We have had many conversations with having our devotional time with this book.
I received this book for free from booklookbloggers in exchange for an honest review.
Nay DeniseNJAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Fun, Inspirational and QuickMay 24, 2019Nay DeniseNJAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Looking for a fun, inspirational and quick family devotional? This is it! This family devotional is meant to be done on a weekly basis. It goes through 52 "key" stories in the Bible from the Old and New Testaments by using the game "Red Light, Green Light." The use of turning the game into something interactive with biblical elements will get children active in learning the Bible and build a bond within the family and relationship with God.
Doing one devotional a week makes it easy to "set" a day for the family and help everyone get focused on God. I love how the devotional makes use of the colors red, yellow and green. I love how the "break down" the scriptures for children to enjoy.
Red light is "stop and read". This is where the summarize the focal scripture. Yellow light is "think and talk" in which they give you something to think about and questions to discuss. They end it with a prayer. Green light is "green means go" which gives you a verse to remember with something about God and also a fun way to end the devotional in a song or fun activity.
Doing this with my son is super fun and it gets him into wanting to learn more about the Word. Totally recommend this!
TimIllinoisAge: 45-54Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5Stop and Go DevotionalMarch 11, 2019TimIllinoisAge: 45-54Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This devotional is intended as a weekly devotional for families. It is a colorful, playful layout with fun illustrations and activities. Each of the weekly devotionals has a full-color illustration with Scriptures passages listed. The facing page is a "Stop and Read" devotional based on the Scriptures given. The next page in each section is a "Think and Talk" page which helps reflect on the passage of Scripture. The last page of each week is an activities page titled "Green Means Go!" page.
All in all, this is a really delightful devotional. It is brightly colored and the activities and thought provoking questions are all kid friendly. I think this would be a great devotional for a young family to begin sharing the Word of God with the children.
I received a copy of this for free from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for a review. The review did not have to be positive. All thoughts are my own.
