Great short devotional for the family! We love reading one after supper, if we miss it my boys are reminding us to do it before bedtime.

All and all, this is a good devotional book. It wasn't a perfect fit for my 9 (almost 10) year old son. Some of the situations included in the stories were just not applicable to him. He just didn't seem to connect with the main characters and what they were going through. Alos, my son said the correct answers to the questions were so predictable - almost always going to be either "C" or "D"! However, one day my son will be placed in a lot of the situations included in the book, he will have to make some of the tough choices highlighted in the stories. Now he's been exposed to the possibilities. So it has been a good, if not perfect, devotional aid for him.

We just began using this as a family devotional. It seems great so far and covers a range of topics. I like that it gives suggested answers but I especially like that it gives scripture to back it all up. I want my kids to know why we should act certain ways instead of the old "because I said so" reason. Hopefully this will help them in their walk and in making wise decisions. Or at least, it may make them think twice. :-)

I am a children's minister and have been a Christian book and Bible retailer for over ten years. The first book in this series was ample reason for me to begin recommending this devotional series to parents of elementary students.2nd-5th grades. However I did like the format of the second volume. Its content dealt on a lower cognitive of material. The content dealt with everyday issues including sibling rivalry, school issues like cheating and the choices children have to make on each of those levels of learning.I had told my youth to make the decision to do the bright thing before you get in the back seat of a car, and Sticky Situations helps children do that on a child's level. (w/o the back seat stuff) Schmitt has done a wonderful job of communication God's principles to kids-yours and mine for eternity's sake. These are also great for brain teasers before SS, Jr Church G-force or whatever your extra church activities are today. The two volume set are an added bargain.(30+ years working with kids) Loving every minute!!!!!

I used this devotional when I was teaching first grade. I enjoyed using the book because it gave them scenarios to think through so that they could figure out what they would do in that situation. I think these kinds of stories also help children to put themselves in someone's situation and help them to be more empathetic towards others. I just recommended this book to a friend!
