Though I felt it targeted Generation X, as a Gen Y'er 'Start your Family' opened my eyes to the conditioning I've received from society to think of parenthood as optional and to think that the convenience factor should be the deciding factor as to when you start having children. I also liked the chapter that dealt with reconciling with your parents to give your children the gift of grandparents. Hard to hear but good to do! Although I found some of the arguments compelling I was still left wanting more answers than this book could give. But for sure this is not your mothers How to Start Your Family book! It was an easy read and thought-provoking.
I purchased this book for my son and daughter-in-law who were looking for guidance in making the decision to start their family. They have both remarked about how the author must be "just like them". They are really identifying with the male/female comments respectively and it is helping to solidify their future plans.Thank you for having just the right tool that they were looking for to guide them.
