I read the reviews for this book and had great expectations. I'm happy the author isn't God or we would all be doomed!
I agree we as born again believers are to be separated from the world. I agree there should be biblical references. Repentance and a heart transformation is a necessity of salvation.
However, it seems there is no room for grace (described as an "excuse" of how we live our lives by not carrying your cross or being separated from the world), or spiritual growth.
An example he gives is the fruits of the spirit. Yes they should be evident in a believer but doesn't tell what the signs of it would be. For everything believers are not doing - and there not doing this, and there not doing that, and there not doing this - what is an example of what the fruit of the spirit looks like in a believer?
He gives a lot to think about but the way he writes you become a born again believer and BOOM your a mature Christian. There is no mention of the Holy spirit convicting and growth.
It felt like I was reading the news paper. All the bad in the world. Legalism.
It exposed, very sadly to say, of my misconceptions of what I understood about being a Christian is and what being saved is all about. There are many make-believe Christians all around us and they don't even know it or recognize how lost they are. Every Christian and non-Christian should read this, then go out steadfastly to relay this information to all their loved ones before it's too late.
A must read for all Christians! The author boldly and candidly addresses how the body of believers are dangerously redefining christianity today to fit their own way of thinking. This book is a definite wake up call!
