Reilly5 Stars Out Of 5Outstanding sermonsJuly 4, 2017ReillyQuality: 2Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The obvious negative with these is that the print isn't very good or consistent.. and lots of broken letters. But that's why five hardcovers are $30.
And it's definitely worth overlooking that fact so you can read these amazing sermons! You will never hear sermons preached like this today. I believe if everyone proclaimed this message, the world would hate us a lot more, but we would see God do amazing things through us. Spurgeon refuses to let worldly pressures dictate his preaching. Every Christian should read these sermons. I couldn't recommend this product more! -
IJLBIowaAge: 35-44Gender: male2 Stars Out Of 5Poor PrintingMay 21, 2011IJLBIowaAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 2Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2The major problem with this set is that the print is not only small (which is to be expected), but that on many of the pages (if not most) there are either gaps in the letters or blotches that obscure all or part of the letters. This resembles the results of typing on an older ribbon typewriter where the lowercase "e"s look like filled in lower case "o"s.
The binding and feel of the books is good, and even the size of the font is manageable, but the blotches and sections where the letters are only partially visible make for much more difficult reading.
This was a rather disappointing purchase. -
Chris LandrumManning, SCAge: 25-34Gender: male1 Stars Out Of 5Poor Quality Printing is UnreadableAugust 20, 2011Chris LandrumManning, SCAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I was so excited to receive this set of Spurgeon's sermons at such a fantastic price (and Christianbook.com shipped them quickly). However, I am shocked (dumbfounded is probably a better word) by the poor quality of the printing. In my opinion, all of the books are illegible and unreadable. On almost every page: part of the text is bolded, part of it is missing, and part of it is smudged. The text looks like it came out of a cheap desktop printer that was almost out of ink. It gives me a headache just to try and read it!

Daniel4 Stars Out Of 5So much Spurgeon, so much greatness!April 14, 2016DanielQuality: 3Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I was weary to make this purchase after reading so many negative reviews on the quality of the books, but I couldn't be more happy that I did.
Bought this collection at a gigantic discount and it arrived quickly. The external quality of the books is excellent (i.e., binding, aesthetics) and they look great on the bookshelf. The print is, as most other reviewers have already noted, the primary issue that unfortunately knocks the overall "product quality" down several notches. The main problem with the print is the inconsistency - I have noticed areas where it gets smaller and larger, areas where it is very dark and areas where it is so light that the words appear to be missing. But this is the only real complaint I have about these books. Despite this, the majority of the text is still readable - I've personally read 2 sermons so far in different volumes and they were so so good!
All in all, aside from the weird print defects and inconsistencies, this collection of Spurgeon's sermons is amazing. And quite frankly, I don't believe you could get a better deal for such quality of work (referring to Spurgeon here) for such a low price and have it still look fantastic. I'm satisfied with these volumes. Two of my close friends are as well.
Hope this helps! -
Mike at GFBCTulsa, OKAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Best Deal on the WebsiteSeptember 17, 2013Mike at GFBCTulsa, OKAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a real jewel among the hundreds of terrible heretical books sold by Christianbooks.com. How serious professing believers can put Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers, and Burpo tripe next to great preachers like Spurgeon is a mystery to me. This is a great volume of books by one of the best preachers in the last 200 years. I would urge Christianbooks to replace all of their modern "word of faith" books which are essentially garbage with more solid theological content like Spurgeon. Great volume set and highly recommended.
