I am a big fan of church history and read many books on the people and events of the past. I seriously doubt the intent of the producers of this video was to make church history boring, but they largely succeeded nevertheless! The narrater, especially has a voice that will put you to sleep. Even worse than that, he seeminly attempts to narrate in character as a Shakespearean actor. It is way over the top. As my wife and I watched the video, we would often look at each other and laugh at the theatrical performance of the narrator. It was a huge distraction from the content of the video. There are far better video presentations on this subject. Overall, I was disappointed.

These are not costume videos. The people are professors and preachers. Some beautiful scenery is also included.

I found it to be a very good introduction to the reformers and Bible translaters. We Lutherans often get the idea that Luther was the only one who protested. This series was very enlightening for me. Oh, what these people went through to get the Gospel to the people.
