Home Schooling Mom4 Stars Out Of 5October 8, 2009Home Schooling MomLast year I noticed my 3rd grader having problems with spelling. This is odd to me because she knows all the phonetic sounds of the alphabets very well, but was still having problems in the word family area. Word Study and Phonics worktext is helping her to learn basic spelling rules, primary affixes, and more to increase vocabulary. She's now gaining more confidence with each lesson. This worktext would be perfect if it had more activity pages of rhyming words exercises with the same base sound to help improve word building.
Kathie2 Stars Out Of 5July 29, 2007KathieNew Publisher and new format. These are NOT the McGraw Hill Spectrum books and the content is not that of the McGraw Hill Spectrum Phonics version. I ordered level 2, 4, and 6 and have used these for years. Missing also are the Reading and Writing Wrap-up sections. The answer key is different also, they just give the answers, not the entire page. Some may like this feature better. It wasn't a factor in the review.
