This book is focused on worship leaders but a must read for all worshippers. To understand the motives of how and why we pick and write songs for our congregation is vital to the success of the peoples encounter with God. Perfect aid for worship songwriting class.

My first copyright song was 1982.

Spent a lot of time learning from studio musicians.

Some of the things Paul covered I was familiar with.

He has a different way of writing I found inspiring.

Using some of his techniques I wrote a new song that I

      presented to other band members.

After hearing it, they are excited about recording it.

Paul relates his lyrics with the Bible that brings a

      powerful message in song writing.

I would recommend God songs by Paul Baloche

to anyone that wants to learn about song writing.

Wonderful resource! I bought this for my husband who is a Christian musician. He loved it from the moment he read the first page. He says that it is very encouraging and helpful in confirming his calling to music ministry. This book has basic music theory information as well as creative and effective ways to make worship fresh without making it "man-centered." My husband says that this book does a great job of reinforcing what musicians already know and teaching them how to better their worship.

Awesome resource!! Well written. It is really nice to see a book on worship that was obviously birthed out of prayer. While giving practical tips on creating worship songs and flow in worship, this book does not lose sight of the reason we worship, and cultivating a lifestyle of worship. This book definitely glorifies our Creator, and encourages the reader to get lost in our worship of Him. A good read for anyone involved in worship, whether on a team, in a home group, or on your knees in your quiet place.
