khs25 Stars Out Of 5So glad we are using this curriculum!September 25, 2019khs2Quality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Such a great book! I am using it with my 1st grader but I think older kids would be able to learn a lot too. He enjoys what he learns and student book has great activities for him to do that go along with what he learned.
1stcorinth4 Stars Out Of 5What I expected !December 14, 20181stcorinthQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5My 10 year old sons (twins!) and I enjoyed this history book, we both learned lots together! I am a mother of two and actively homeschool my children, and they loved the interactive story perspective. This book is a good purchase for any Christian family teaching history. It includes information of Pagan religions and ancient mythological beliefs, which I think is preferable for any Christian student because they get the opportunity to learn more about the past. For me, this is the ideal text for my children, they had a great time learning history and several characteristics of ancient religions. Upon reading the reviews, I had feared that it might not be friendly for their young minds, but there was no need for such fear. These books broadened their knowledge and appreciation for other religions and their culture. It taught them things that otherwise they would not know, all the while not pushing any inaccurate religious ideals onto them. I think they have grown more of an understanding of our peoples past, and have strengthened their faith in the Lord with understanding! The timelines line up with the story of Adam and Eve, but is not inclusive and gave my sons a perspective from the middle ground which helped them learn. I am so excited to get the next one in the series, as our my sons!

HomeSchlMom5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Jumping Off PointOctober 9, 2018HomeSchlMomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Story of the World provides a nice overview of world history in a sensible and easy to follow chronological order. It has provided a nice framework for our 2nd/3rd grade homeschool history lessons. We are moving slowly through the book and supplementing each chapter with many other, more detailed, activities. What I especially appreciate about this series is the inclusion of cultures and civilizations outside of Europe - this is truly a WORLD history book. As a child in public school I was only vaguely aware of the history and achievements of civilizations outside of Europe and America. I hope to give my child a broader perspective and I think this series will helpful in that regard.
craftmom20124 Stars Out Of 5not geared toward younger elementary studentsJuly 18, 2018craftmom2012Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4My daughter just finished kindergarten and LOVES these books. However, I feel that the amount of mythology and gory content would be better suited for 5th grade and up. Also, for those of us who are Christian, it would be nice if there was more emphasis on the difference between mythology (not true) and stories from the bible (true). Since they are presented in the same format, it would be easy for kids to assume they are all true or all make-believe. My daughter enjoyed a few of the activities from the workbook but got bored w/ all the coloring pages, 1/2 or more I wouldn't give her because they were too scary/gory.
