Snuggle Time Prayers, written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Cee Biscoe, is a perfect bedtime collection of fifteen prayers. This padded cover board book will help children settle down at bedtime and remind them of their blessings as they draw closer to God.
Glenys Nellist was born and raised in a little village in northern England. Her stories and poems have been published in childrens magazines where her writing reflects a deep passion for bringing the Bible to life for young children. Glenys lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband, David.
Cee Biscoe has been illustrating picture books full-time since early 2008. Her first picture book, Gruff the Grump, was one of the "Reads of the Year" in the Red House Children's Book Awards 2010. Since then she has illustrated several picture books and board books for a variety of publishers, including Grandma Kisses. The board book Sleepy Me was selected for inclusion in the 2012 Bookstart pack, and Messy Me was shortlisted for Lancashire County Council's Early Years Book Awards 2012. She completed an MA in children's book illustration at Cambridge School of Art in 2008.
Fitzysmom5 Stars Out Of 5Review from Rambles of a SAHMApril 22, 2016FitzysmomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love children's bedtime for all the obvious reasons but also because it is such a wonderful time of snuggling and breathing in the aroma of freshly bathed little ones. In our home we always read a book or two before tucking our kiddos in. I'm careful about selecting what we will read. Just as I want them to begin their day with a story about Jesus I also want them to end their day that way.
When you see the name Glenys Nellist on the cover you can be assured that the words contained within will point you to Jesus. In Snuggle Time Prayers Glenys gives us fifteen prayers to share with our kids. Each section begins with a verse of Scripture and then has a rhyming prayer. Just think you're already beginning to teach your little one how to pray back the words of God! That's a lifelong benefit that you are instilling.
The book itself is beautifully illustrated by the talented Cee Biscoe. All of the sweet little animals pictured are absolutely adorable. So soft and cuddly! The book is a padded board book that is sturdy enough to stand up to multiple readings from little hands.
If you are looking for a new bedtime book for your nightly routine I highly recommend this one. The words are ones that are sure to be remembered and the pictures are a treat as well.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

It is not long by any means, There are only about 15 quick prayers for little wandering minds. Just enough to help them start to pray at such a young age.
Laura Rene5 Stars Out Of 5Snuggle Time PrayersFebruary 27, 2016Laura ReneQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5You can never have enough children's books! One of my dear friends has been collecting them for years and it will be so fun to see her share them with her children someday (I have a feeling she'll be getting engaged pretty soon...and you know, love, marriage, then the baby carriage. *wink*)
We don't have any books yet for our little one and this particular book totally tugged at my heartstrings when I saw it! Snuggles and prayers-- it doesn't get much sweeter than that!
It's a lovely hardback book (with board pages and a cushioned cover-- definitely toddler friendly. Inside are the most adorable prayers to introduce little ones to the God who loves them and wants to be their friend. For example:
Goodnight, God, it's time to sleep;
I've put my toys away.
And I just want to thank You
For a happy, fun-filled day [...]
I love the idea of introducing my children to God as friend and Father, to help them have a relationship with Him even at such a young age. To never be afraid to go to Him, for He always wants the little children near Him.
All in all, I was very pleased with this book and I'm excited to put it in our nursery-- and even more excited to snuggle and pray with our baby this year.

This month I picked a childrens book called Snuggle Time Prayers, by Glenys Nellist. Its a childrens board book (each page is hardback) containing a prayer on one page, and an illustration on the next. The book is 30 pages long and is absolutely adorable! The prayers are rhyming prayers and the illustrations are fantastic.
I was very excited to see such a beautiful childrens Christian book. Its refreshing to know there are books out there that we can read to our children in full confidence that they will be learning about God. Each page made me smile a bit bigger, and the prayers are simply divine. I highly recommend this book to all mothers of young children. I would make a great baby shower, or birthday present. I already have my little girl picked out that I will be passing this on to. Thank you so much Glenys Nellist.

HarbuckAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Snuggle Time Prayers is the perfect bedtime prayer book for little ones (2 & under). My 15 month old really enjoyed it. The prayers are really short and simple. We read about three prayers in one sitting. Each prayer has a title and corresponding bible verse that goes along with it. My son especially loved the pages with illustrations of animals. Overall, a very cute book and great, short read for bedtime.
