Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I live in Oklahoma with my husband of 50 years, a stay at home mom for most of those years. I began in full time ministry in 1984, as a concert soloist, then recording artist, releasing several CD's, the first 2 at the Gaither's studio. Gave concerts in many states, then started speaking for women's conferences, retreats, etc. women would constantly tell me "you need to write a book, your personal stories are so real, and moving." I never thought I'd be an author, but the Holy Spirit kept prompting me to write, so I wrote a few of my stories, submitted them to a publisher, they sent me a contract. My whole reason for writing my first book, "Snapshots of Grace"..'Divine Appointments with God' was to share with people that God wants to be a part of your life, He wants to love, guide, and comfort us, meet our needs. I shared how He had done that in my life, so others would look for the 'divine appointments' they had, but didn't recognize it as the Lord working in their life. I've had marvelous feedback from people around the U.S. of how my stories have touched them deeply. An interesting note, I've had as many men as I have women, tell me that, some even weeping while talking to me about reading the book. One gentleman, a rancher, said his wife had bought the book for a Christmas gift, he saw it, picked it up, began to read, and in his words said, "I couldn't put it down, stayed up all night until I finished it, I was late going out to feed my cattle and horses, he continued...you should put a warning label in the front of the book saying..'you won't be able to put this down until you've read it all the way through.'" He continued..."Your book has touched me like nothing else has in my life, you've totally changed my perspective of God, I felt like you were sitting in my living room talking to me, sharing from your heart, it melted my heart." I feel humbled and overwhelmed at the goodness of God as he's used my words to touch people's lives for His Glory.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I felt moved to share my journey with Christ, to help others understand that He died to have a 'personal relationship' with each of us, His love for us is beyond our scope of fathoming, He didn't die for a religion, he died for a relationship with each of us, and that personal love is what I have experienced since I accepted Christ when I was 33 years old. And I want others to have that same experience, and they can.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  A closer walk with the ONE who loves them most.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It enriched my life as I remembered and shared the 'snapshot' moments where the Lord intervened when I most needed Him...and His Grace met the need I was facing, no matter how small the need, as He reminded me of scripture time and time again. It even deepened my faith to remember, and look back on all those 'grace' moments, and how thankful I am that He is mine, and I am his...

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  One of my favorite authors, is David Needham, I remember reading his book and as I read each personal story of his walk with God, I'd sigh and say..."Lord, I wish I could write like that." And one day, I did..by the grace of God.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Don't listen to what this world tells you about you, read Psalm 139, and find out what the Creator thinks of you. He loves you and values you more than anyone ever will, and He does have a plan for your life, that will bring such joy, and pupose, meaning and direction to your life. You can make a difference in your world, if you put your life in His hands, I am living proof of that. It's a love like I've never known.
