Cupcake bottom1 Stars Out Of 5DishearteningFebruary 20, 2018Cupcake bottomQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Here's the thing, Ted Dekker is a fantastic writer. He writes in a way that no one else does. Describing things in a way that no one else would think of. I love some of his books. That being said I have to say I hated this book. It literally gave me nightmares. The way it was written, it was near impossible to see the light of God in it. That being said, the ending was fantastic but read at your own risk.
JB5 Stars Out Of 5SuspensefulApril 5, 2016JBQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Ted Dekker book Skin is a intense read. Full of suspense and action and of course a plot twists that you won't see coming. A very good read. You will enjoy it.
Marissa2 Stars Out Of 5July 21, 2010MarissaTed Dekker is an amazing author. His writing is both intriguing and suspenseful. However I had a hard time reading his book in good conscience. Yes, it is a book about a serial killer and it does have some gory parts which is clearly stated on the book's cover. But what bothered me is that the killer wanted to kill the ugliest, which meant not only on the outside but also on the inside. Sin makes you ugly is basically what it's saying, yet nowhere in the book does it tell you how you can become beautiful. That really bothered me. I was really confused on what this book was trying to tell me or what "lesson" I was supposed to take from it. I really didn't get what Dekker was trying to do. As a Christian, this isn't a book I'll read again. I'm rating it a 1 1/2 stars for the creative writing and for it's creative twists, but not for the REAL meaning of the book.
Betty Mckenzie4 Stars Out Of 5February 2, 2010Betty MckenzieDefinitely not what I expected, but when I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I was never sure where the author was taking us. Even at the end I was left wondering, "Could it be...". I'm a suspense novel fan and love Frank Perretti style fiction. Now I've added Dekker to my list of favorite authors. Skin is definitely worth buying.
