I have always been intrigued by the culture and lifestyle of ancient Israel and how they translate within the parables of Jesus, as well as his teachings. This book has answered many questions for me and has helped to give me greater insight into Jesus' audience, and to see how down to earth and simple His messages were. No wonder all genders and ages were attracted to his messages and ministry. There is much that can be gleaned and applied to ministry today!

WadeTennesseeAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I think the author's, Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg, open up the world of Jesus as seen through Jewish eyes in a way that makes it easy to grasp for those who, perhaps, see things a little too much from a Western perspective. I found the book to be informative and enjoyable to read. So much so that I purchased the second book by Lois Tverberg dealing with a similar theme. Highly recommended!
