This musical was perfect for our small sized church. We simplified a lot of the parts and and acting because of the number of children we had (24). We had kids aged 3 through 16. We cut out some scenes that required more people and space, added a bright star (child in star costume) behind the manger for the wise meant to walk towards, and used our three oldest teens as the narrators for the whole program. We gave our littlest kiddos on the front row some ribbons to wave around during "Go Tell it on a Mountain" and had Mary and Joseph sing "The Cradle Song" as a duet.
The parents all LOVED this play and the kiddos were so cute! Even the older kids didn't mind singing and wearing angel or shepherd costumes. I'm hoping to find one similar in style for Easter. I recommend this for a church of any size as it is very easily adaptable to fit different sized groups of kiddos.
This program will be a wonderful way to share the birth of Jesus. We don't have a lot of children in our church so this will work perfectly! Also, the songs are familiar ones so they won't be hard to learn!
