Tell us a little about yourself. Hello, Linda Spivey here, I remember telling everyone when I was 5 years old that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I went into nursing as a career but still did my painting as a hobby. Then about 25 years ago I amazingly connected with a new publishing company and I became a published artist, thanks to Penny Lane Publishing.
What was your motivation behind this project? I was asked by Harvest House Publishers to create this coloring book. I have a huge bank of designs to pull from, but I actually created new designs for this project. I created designs that I would want to color. In fact, each one I created I really wanted to turn to my paints and paint it....but my timeline for the project didn't allow it.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that the designs are fun to color and the inspiration I chose are.....inspirational.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This was a big project for me, it took a lot of time and creativity to do. When I begin anything, I like to pray about it....when it's a big project....I really turn it over to God. God has always supplied all I need in everything I do!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I am most inspired by scripture and inspirational quotes. I often get ideas for a painting listening to the pastor's sermon...."ahhhh, that could make an interesting painting".
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am always amazed and humbled to hear from people (mostly on Facebook) from all over the world to hear how much they appreciate my artwork. It's folks like these that have kept me painting. Thank you!
