Still Growing5 Stars Out Of 5Simple ChurchAugust 23, 2014Still GrowingQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The book Simple Church impressed me greatly with the idea of the Church "providing opportunities for growth." It made me realize just how much of a rut we can get into with our Church attendance without really advancing the Kingdom of God. I fully agree that the growth of a Christian or a Church is a process of continually moving forward and not just a one time class, with no further action being taken as a result of what was learned in the class. The Bible says we are to seek wisdom. My understanding is that wisdom is knowledge put into action. If what you know is not put into action, you might as well not know it. The book clearly supports this line of thinking.
The book clearly presents the idea of keeping things simple by having a clear and to the point mission statement for the Church. It stresses the importance of having three or four main goals that can be clearly written and visually expressed so people know where they are now and where they need to move along in the process of personal, and Church, growth. It stress that every program or class in the Church should have elements that strive to reach the goals in you Church mission statement. This is an excellent idea for advancing the Kingdom of God.
Following the ideas in the book will truly help the Church make disciples who in turn make more disciples. The purpose of which, first of all, is reaching the lost as well a personal growth of Christians. There are many great ideas in the book. If you follow through and put into practice the major ideas in the book, you will grow personally and you can be instrumental in the growth of your Church.
I overwhelmingly rate the book 5 stars. Oh yes, I also purchased another copy of Simple Church and gave it to my pastor at my local Church were I regularly attend.

Doesn't give you detailed steps, but guides you through the processes in such a way any church, leader, or Pastor can succeed with. Size doesn't matter, getting everyone focused on the processes to succeed does.
