But now that he is Dead, Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him but he will not return to me (2 Samuel 12:23)
Almost 200,000 couples in America each year suffer through the tragedy of miscarriage. And that statistic only tells us about first trimester miscarriages. The emotional pain of longer-term miscarriages, and the untold numbers of mothers and fathers who keep silent about their hurt, make this form of child loss especially cruel.
But in Silent Grief, author Clara Hinton brings a clear message of hope through the cold mourning. Writing of her own grief, and interviewing scores of women and men, she offers not pat answers, but instead show us this: You are not alone.
Additionally, the author touches the tears of other forms of child loss: stillbirth, missing children, and adult children who succumb to accident or illness.
The moving, honest responses to these interviews tells the reader that through the tears and rage and awful silence, God still loves us and knows our children intimately. King David knew this. He knew that one day he would reunited with his child.
Clara Hinton is a motivational speaker, author of many books including Silent Grief, certified bereavement facilitator, and resiliency coach. She speaks often and leads workshops on the topic of coping skills for grief relief. She has experienced first-hand the grief associated with sibling loss, child loss, and grandchild loss. She shares ways to stay focused on lifes goals and how to turn obstacles into pathways to success. It is her passion to share this knowledge with you!

Janey B5 Stars Out Of 5April 7, 2009Janey BThis is a hard book to read, but it is so right on. The perspective is completely empathetic and encouraging. It is great for friends/family to read as well to grasp what the grieving parents are experiencing.
Phyllis Carney5 Stars Out Of 5December 17, 2007Phyllis CarneyAfter having suffered in silence for more than fifteen years, I was finally able to receive healing after reading this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who has lost a baby or miscarried a pregnancy. I only wish I had read it sooner.
Karen Soikkeli5 Stars Out Of 5October 21, 2007Karen SoikkeliI read this book after the loss of my daughter Melody who was born at 23 1/2 weeks gestation and lived almost 7 months. I found what the author spoke of and shared to ring with my heart and the feelings I have felt along the way. The grief that no one understands and the loneliness that comes with it. Only those who have experienced the loss of a child can truly understand. This book blessed my heart and I have subsequently given it too others experiencing loss.
