Book 7: Open Your Heart
What an adventure! Having Christy Miller invite Sierra on an all-expenses-paid trip to Europe was amazing--but that was just the beginning. Sierra never imagined she'd meet someone like Alex, a dark-eyed Russian college student who's a Christian. Or that they'd all come face-to-face with disaster. Through it all, one question haunts Sierra: Can she learn to love others without expecting anything in return? Will she finally be able to open her heart to others--and to God?
Book 8: Time Will Tell
Sierra's senior year of high school is here, but after the great summer she just had, how can it be anything but a letdown? Sure enough, the year tanks big-time when the school issues her buddy Randy an ultimatum. Stuck in the middle, Sierra wonders, what's right? Her friend, or the rules? She longs to talk it over with Amy, but Sierra's best friend still isn't talking to her. What's worse, she hasn't heard a word from Paul! No doubt about it, this school year is totally frustrating! Will Sierra ever understand her friendships or God's plans for them?
Book 9: Now Picture This
Why can't everyone just leave Sierra alone? All she wants to do is find a place to read the letter she just received from Paul--to soak in every word and memorize the photo he sent her. But Thanksgiving at the Jensen house means relatives everywhere! Sierra hides out, immersed in her ideas for Paul's birthday and Christmas gifts, especially his requested gift: A photo of her. Sierra's determined--the photo has to be spectacular! But a small voice of doubt nags at her. What does God think of her ignoring her family and friends this way? And is her picture-perfect relationship with Paul really all she thinks it is?

Story Behind the Book
"After writing the twelve-book Christy Miller series for teens, a new character showed up on the pages of the final novel. Her name was Sierra Jensen, and she was so compelling as a teenage character that readers began asking for a series about Sierra in order to hear more about her life choices. Our family had just moved to Portland at the time, and I found it easy to picture a sixteen-year-old like Sierra shopping at the local vintage clothing stores, hanging out with friends at a garage band concert, and serving at the homeless shelter on weekends."

Get ready for more adventures and misadventures with Sierra Jensen as I review Volume #3 which contains books #7-9. In Book #7 "Open Your Heart" we see Sierra join forces with Christy and her aunty Marti on a journey that takes them to Europe -particulary Switzerland as Christy is applying to go to boarding school there for a year. It is in Switzerland, that Sierra and Christy meet a Russian guy called Alex and it seems Alex has his eyes on Sierra - seems our Sierra can't keep the guys away from her. We also read on this trip as Christy with help from Sierra gets Aunty Marti to open up about her past and why she has hidden from God. When a tragedy strikes and they are saved, is that the proof Christy and Sierra need to show Marti that God hasn' t turned his back on her and will Christy say yes to Boarding school in Switzerland even if it means being away from Todd , Find out what really happens when you "Open Your Heart".
In Book #8 Time Will Tell , Sierra is back at home ready to start her senior year , however things aren't the same as she left them. Her friend Amy won't talk to her , no matter how hard Sierra tries - Is this the end of Sierra and Amy's friendship ? The school has offered Randy an ultimatum - cut his hair or leave , can Sierra bear to lose another friend in the process of a campaign of his own and what happens when Sierra misplaces her Grandma ? Will this event be for the best and bring two friends closer than ever , We read as only "Time will tell" what Sierra's senior year has in store for her.
In the final Book #9 "Now Picture This" , its Thanksgiving and that means its time for a giant Jensen Family reunion and everyone has news from Tawni finding her birth mother etc. However all Sierra wants is peace and quiet to ponder her relationship with Paul and to pour over his letters. But is Sierra getting in over her head as she reads the letters differently from others ? Is Sierra setting herself up for a fall as she has to take a step back and wonder really and "Now Picture This" whether her relationship with the Phantom Paul is as picture-perfect as she wants to believe
Jan4 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2009JanI'm going to break away from the crowd by giving this book only a 3.5 star rating. Here's why:In Open Your Heart, I really enjoyed meeting up with Christy again, but Sierra's relationship with Alex left me empty in the end. (It reminded me of Book #9: Seventeen Wishes from the Christy Miller series. Christy had a whirlwind relationship with Jaeson that left me wondering, "Why was that even included?")In Time Will Tell, Sierra struggles with all sorts of problems with friends, school, and with Paul. She finds a friend in Vicki, and trys to salvadge her relationship with Amy. There were some really funny parts in this book!In Now Picture This, Sierra obsesses herself with Paul. The entire book if based on her fantasy relationship with Paul. She considers him her boyfriend, and he thinks of her as a friend. She spends all of her money on things for Paul--as well as all of her time. Finally, with her parents help, she realizes that her relationship is not picture perfect. This book really related to me, about how sometimes, you just need to take a step back. But still, I would have liked more excitment and I wished it was more romantic. If you're not all into a happy, romantic read, then you will like this. If you are, then this will leave you wanting more.
