This kit is comprised of the student workbook and the teacher's manual. Encouraging student-teacher interaction, the teacher's manual features comprehensive chapters which include everything needed for the lesson, including jingles, exercises, lessons, study notes, tests, checks, writing activities, and more. Lessons are scripted, with directions for students italicized, important concepts and words bolded, and charts included to help teachers and students visualize each idea. Student page numbers are referenced to help both parent and child easily find their respective places. "How to get started" and "jingle guidelines" provide additional hints and information for the teacher. Answers for the student practice and tests (included in the student workbook) are included chronologically. 458 three-hole-punched pages, softcover.
Divided into a jingle section, reference section, practice section, and test section, students will need to flip to the necessary section in order to complete their lesson practice. The jingle section contains the lyrics to all the jingles, while the practice section provides a variety of activities, including matching, editing, multiple-choice, short answer, writing exercises, charts and other forms of written skill practice. Each test in the test section is divided into four areas: grammar, vocabulary, language skills and a weekly summary. Tests involve a variety of questions which should be familiar from the practice section. The reference section contains vocabulary words, an initial set-up plan, general reference notes, samples, and charts. 112 pages, softcover.
An audio CD with the jingles and introductory sentences is also included to help students remember elements such as parts of speech.
This level 5 kit covers the eight parts of speech; sentence types; sentence structure; capitalization, reference, usage, verbs, pronouns; adjectives, punctuation; writing letters; expository, persuasive, descriptive, narrative, creative and journal writing; poetry; and figures of speech.

Mom of boysRoanoke, VAAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great for my son with autismNovember 13, 2013Mom of boysRoanoke, VAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We have tried other grammar programs but my son asked for this one back! He has high functioning autism and learns best in small increments of information repeated frequently. He remembers all the "rules" with the songs. The lessons are short enough for him to focus. He is in the 5th grade. This is the third year we have used it.
MBMBAge: 35-44Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5March 21, 2012MBMBAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3I think is would be way too advanced for a learner who struggles more or even an average learner. This is for a very self motivated and advanced learner and for one who isn't into very much flash. Meaning the book doesn't grab a young childs attention as wow I want to open that up and learn.

LauraAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good productAugust 31, 2011LauraAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I like teaching this program. It is much easier than Abekka which we found hard to use and understand. It is not a favorite of my children who are 11 and 12. They find it repetitive and they say too kid like. The jingles just need some life. We didn't use the cd just because all the lady does is just say the jingles. We rapped them! It did make them easier to remember. It is a good program. :)
BibbiginsNashville, TNAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great ProgramFebruary 18, 2011BibbiginsNashville, TNAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We homeschool & are currently using this program for our 5th grade daughter. It is very thorough, explains things well (for the most part), and incorporates writing as well as grammar. In my opinion, some of the lessons are long so we split them into two lessons. As with any program, I tweak to suit our family's needs, but all in all I believe this is a well rounded curriculum. It is our first year to use it, but I plan to order it again for next year.
