My first grader is classifying sentences with ease! I don't remember being able to label the parts of speech until much later, and even then the reasoning behind such labels and information was iffy at best. This program uses the jingles to teach children the parts of speech as well as how to become a better writer. I am very pleased!
Mom of 2Evanston, IlAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5shipping is TONS cheaper through CBDJune 8, 2011Mom of 2Evanston, IlAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4In a world of text messaging shorthand, I believe it is important to teach writing. I like this curriculum because it uses several different forms of instruction, of the same material, to reach the various learning levels of each child. In other words, the repetition is comprehensive and diverse--a very important component to learning.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that CBD's shipping cost is really cheap when you compare it to the manufacturer's website. They charge $11! this is true even if you are only getting a 2oz coloring book!

Star1 Stars Out Of 5July 2, 2010StarI thought this product was WAY too advanced for a 1st grader. I really like the products for older children, but this was far to advanced. It is more appropriate for a 3rd grader. I returned it and will be using other materials.
