I long...to take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
The Book of Psalms
One of the most encouraging metaphors for divine love is that of finding shelter under the protection of God's wings. On every page of this uplifting gift book, the gentle artwork of Carolyn Shores Wright tenderly reminds readers that God cares not only for the birds of the air but so much more for His children.
Loving quotations, reassuring Scripture, and calming prose thoughtfully express the message that God longs to show compassion and care, rest and refuge to those who are hurting. A comforting gift for anyone experiencing illness or suffering a recent loss in their lives.
The delicate artwork of Carolyn Shores Wright appears on collector’s plates and prints, needlework patterns, cards, clothing designs, and in the books Abundance of the Heart and Beneath His Wings. Carolyn particularly enjoys painting birds.

Many of the quotes and scriptures were such a comfort to me while dealing with cancer. I often purchase several to send to friends who are dealing with difficult times. As a lover of art and birds I keep it handy just to enjoy the art work and inspiration over and over again.
PS. Aside from my positive review and not to be included in it; I would like to add that I had sent a note stating that the three copies I had just ordered seemed a bit muted in color compared to others I had purchased, but I sent them on to friends never the less.

Just one note of caution, this is a coated (slick) heavy duty paperback book and not hardback. I missed this info when ordering, but even so, this gift book is so meaningful and comforting. I'm glad I purchased two books...one for me and one for someone else. Perfect gift for someone who truly needs a dose of comfort.

Barbara5 Stars Out Of 5April 22, 2009BarbaraA friend gave me this book as a gift. I just love it because it is so encouraging. This is a little book that I have read through over and over. The artwork is beautiful and comforting. Several friends have come to my home, saw this book on my end table, picked it up to read, and commented on how they wanted it. I highly recommend this book as a gift book. In fact, I am placing an order today for some to give as gifts.
