GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5TeamworkMarch 20, 2025GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Serial Burn, Softcover, #3.I am always delighted to get my hands on a new Lynette Eason book. I had to wait for a month to find time to read her latest release, but it was worth the wait. Many of the characters were introduced in the first two books of the series. The hero and heroine of this story were introduced previously but they were only two among a larger group of supporting characters. Jesslyn, the local fire marshal, has her hands full in this story as she tries to figure out who is setting buildings on fire and seemingly targeting her life. She was driven to become a fire marshal by the tragedy that took her own family years earlier, but she never expected to be in the crosshairs of an arsonist. Nathan is an FBI agent assigned to the Lake City office. With his partner Andrew, he was assigned to work with the local LEOs when the first building that was burned was a church. I loved the way that all their friends gathered around and worked together to help protect each other, to give support in whatever way was needed, and to lend their expertise from their particular law enforcement specialty. I can only wonder what it would be like if such camaraderie and teamwork existed in the law enforcement field across our nation. The suspense kept me turning pages when I should have been doing other things, but I had trouble finding good stopping places. The romance was trying to bloom, but the search to stop an arsonist before another fire kept them pressing hard to get the job done without distraction. I am looking forward to the next book.

AEASand5 Stars Out Of 5Enjoy the BurnFebruary 21, 2025AEASandQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Serial Burn, Softcover, #3.It has been burning for a while now. Serial Burn is the third book in the Lake City Heroes series from Lynette Eason, and friends of the heroes have hoped for a bit of accelerant on the sparks flying between Jesslyn and Nathan. They both know a thing or two about fire; one claimed the lives of her family when she was a child, leading her to pursue a career that would allow her to someday find the person who killed her parents and sisters. He holds his fire related secret close, along with the guilt and shame burned on his soul. Their personal tragedies and perceptions are a wall of flames between them and should stay that way. But when fires start popping off around Lake City and someone starts targeting Jesslyn, things heat up in a way neither of them expects.
Jesslyn is not the only one well versed in fire, as Lynette Eason pens a well researched novel that engulfs the reader. Her knowledge allows the story to flow in a way that keeps the reader from tripping over technicalities and allows maximum enjoyment of the fast paced action paired with the slow burn romance. And of course, relatable characters are a keystone of an Eason novel, especially since we have been friends of the heroes for two books already and are fired up for the next. So, if those things are your jam, I recommend getting into Serial Burn. But if you can*t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

FayeAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Entertaining ReadFebruary 10, 2025FayeAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Serial Burn, Softcover, #3.Jesslyn McCormick sees her past rising up like the smoke off a series of arsons that seem to be tied to the fire that killed her family when she was a child. Now she and FBI Agent Nathan Carlisle must get to the bottom of the fires before its too late.
An action packed read with elements from the past and the present that add to the suspense. I loved that Jesslyn had a great group of friends around her, and it was fun to see her growing friendship with Nathan. There was great interaction, plenty of mystery, with compelling main characters.
A compelling and intriguing story of faith and forgiveness, interwoven with suspense and finding love. Entertaining and well written, I'm hoping this isn't the last that we see of some of the characters!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. -
S.M.5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome read!January 30, 2025S.M.This review was written for Serial Burn, Softcover, #3.Another great story in the Lake City Heroes series. I love all the main characters in this group of friends. This book deals with some really tough subjects, but the author does an amazing job of bringing them into the storyline of forgiveness and redemption. Can't wait to read the final story in this epic series!

Sarah OSouth DakotaAge: 35-44Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Worth the readJanuary 29, 2025Sarah OSouth DakotaAge: 35-44Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Serial Burn, Softcover, #3.I really could not put this book down. This book did not disappoint at all and the whole book I sweat I thought I had it all figured out it could only be the person I guessed right, Wrong. The author keeps you guessing and then when we finally revels I am like no way I did not see that coming!!! I liked how the author did not finish the book on a cliff hanger or leave you trying to figure out what happens :"next". I really like Jesslyn and her friends they all had each others backs and when one was faced with something everyone would rally around and help out anyway they can. I liked Nathan he really faced some really tough situations and he didn't let that hold him back trying to help those out and trying to heal. There was a situation between Nathan and his brother Eli, while I have see other authors try and approach this subject lightly this author took it head and did not sugar coat it. Its something people deal with all the time and it was nice to see her address it from a christian aspect with out a whole lot of judgement coming off the pages. Overall I would recommend this book to just about any one there are tough topics but it will keep you on the edge of your seat and its well worth the read.
