Like many others who have read this book series I was so taken by the characters, their life adventures and their subsequent growth toward God I wanted more. How could I benefit from their experiences ? Then it happened ! A study guide .

Now ,we are seven women travelling to-gether through the series. We have decided to give one year of our book club time to this purpose. And we are challenged by the questions in the study guide every day. Sometimes I find myself slamming the book shut and walking away in frustration only to be called back to the table by the Holy Spirit ....... who gently tells me " it's okay...you can do this."

Would I recommend this book ? YES ! I would also recommend that you grab the hand of a friend or two....or six ...... and go on a life changing journey to-gether.

I love the Sensible Shoes book series! It is one of the best book series I have ever read. When I read Sensible Shoes (the first book), I loved learning about the spiritual disciplines that the characters in the book used to draw nearer to God. I kept thinking about how great it would be to lead a book club / class on learning about the disciplines. When I found out the author was writing a study guide, I was ecstatic and requested a pre-release copy to use with our group this past summer. We used the study guide for a seven-week session with around 20 ladies and we all loved it! The questions were thought provoking and we enjoyed doing lectio divina together. Truly, none of us wanted the class to end. Thank you, Sharon for giving us such a great way to study scripture and mediate on them all wrapped up in the compelling story of the Sensible Shoes club. I highly recommend this study guide for those want to learn spiritual disciplines as a means to meditate on the word and grow closer to Christ.
