"Selections From One Thousand Gifts: Finding Joy in What Really Matters" by Ann Voskamp

I was recently given a copy of Ann Voskamp's new gift book, "Selections from: One Thousands Gifts: Finding Joy in What Really Matters", and I was thrilled to get it. I had heard of the book and had been interested to read it. THe whole idea is being woken up to find your own wondrous life and discover joy where you are, here and now. It's about finding true amazing grace in the moments, "because if joy is a matter of gratitude, and gratitude is a matter of perspective, then giving thanks changes not only your perspective but also your life."

I really liked a lot of things that the author had to say about making thanksgiving a priority and making it more than just "thank you God for everything"...making it intentional and ongoing. While I truly admired and agreed with a lot of what was said, I'm not sure that I like the way it was said in this particular book. I think that if I had read the original work it would have been much more. This gift book seems to give only glimpses of the story and I couldn't seem to follow along. I think that as a way of encouragement and reminder this is an incredible book, but for me, I think I'd like to have this and the original book as well. Ann Vonkamp did an inspired job at making you think of "thanksgiving" in a different way and for that, I would recommend this book to friends.

DISCLAIMER: I recieved a free copy of this book through the publisher's(Thomas Nelson Publishing) Booksneeze blogger review program, HOWEVER, I was NOT required to write a positive review. ALL thoughts and opinions are my own!!!
