When Bailey's mother is murdered and then her husbnad's secrets are revealed, Bailey wonders if she can trust anyone anymore, including herself.

After the death of her mom, and her own life being threatened, Bailey flees to the only place she can think of, a cabin her ex-husband deeded to her. However, the longer she stays there the more questions arise. How is Lavender Tides connected to her mom? What secrets what she keeping from her daughter and why? Why is the FBI in this seemingly quiet town? The further she falls into the mystery the more dangerous it becomes.

This is the first "It" book of 2019 for me. It kept me up late reading, it yanked hard on my emotions, to the point I cried at some spots. This is not a light read. On the contrary, it covers very serious topics- talking with strangers online, child kidnapping, sex trafficking. It is set in a small town where everyone knows everyone, where you would never suspect such atrocities happening. "Not in my town", "not my neighbor". This is a very well-written novel and a very timely subject matter. Colleen Coble wrote this amazingly well.

    * I received this book free from Fiction Guild and Thomas Nelson in exchange for my honest review. What I have expressed are entirely my own thoughts and I was not compensated in any monetary way*

4 stars- This is the third and final book in the Lavender Tides series. Although you can read this book as a stand-alone, I think you definitely get a better grasp of the whole story if you read all three books in order.

Poor Bailey Fleming has no idea her world as she knows it is about to completely flip upside down. Everything she believes to be true, even her complete identity, has been a lie.

As for FBI agent Lance Phoenix, the last five years of his life has been focused solely on finding his younger sister Ava who disappeared after running away from home.

This was a fast paced story that introduced a host of new characters while continuing the stories of numerous familiar characters as well. I have really enjoyed this series and was looking forward to finding out how things would be wrapped up. Colleen Coble did not disappoint. The idea that human trafficking is such a thriving business today is simply hard to swallow. How others can treat young, innocent girls in such deplorable ways is heartbreaking and infuriating. This book definitely sends out a timely warning for teenagers and parents of teenagers to be on their guard against such predators, especially online.

I really liked Lance and Bailey. They were both strong characters with strong wills but hearts of gold, quick to help those in need. Colleen also wrapped up the story of Shauna and Grayson's search for baby Brenna in a sweet way. I look forward to Colleen Coble's next series!

I received a copy of this book for free. I was not required to post a positive review and the views and opinions expressed are my own.

This book easily captured my interested in the first few pages. I was really excited to read the story and see what was going on.

But as I went further into the book it became less believable. I hate saying that about a wonderful author such as Colleen. But for someone on the run Bailey was very willing to trust strangers, and jobs were just falling into her lap. It seemed very unrealistic.

My other issue was the number of POV characters. I was constantly having to take a minute to remember who was who and how they were related to the story.

Unfortunately, I really didn't enjoy this story because of the issue listed above.

A copy of this book was given to me through the BookLook Bloggers program. All opinions are my own.

A great conclusion to this series! Plenty of suspense, mystery and romance. If you've been following Shauna's story in this series, you will not want to miss this one!! If you like romantic suspense and haven't read this series yet, you need to. :) I really like Bailey and Lance as well, 2 of the new characters in the story.

Thanks to the Fiction Guild for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions in the review are my own, of course!
