CounselorThoughts5 Stars Out Of 5Highly recommended by a professional counselor with great information about how to practically infuse more of God's blessing into your marriageMarch 21, 2017CounselorThoughtsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As a professional counselor, I highly recommend A Wife's Secret to Happiness. I will confess I hesitated to read it at first as I felt that my marriage is a little less traditional but the author did not get stuck in gender stereotypes and endorsed great freedom in the couple relationship. I ended up receiving great value in the theme of involving God more intentionally in your marriage relationship.
So often in my office I meet women who are discouraged in their marriage and looking for something they can do to make it better even when their husbands won't attend couples counseling. This book is a great resource as it provides 11 practical ways for you to allow God to be more involved in your marriage and encourages you to approach difficult aspects of your marriage in a more positive way. I also like the author's use of constructive communication skills. She also addresses issues of abuse and husbands who are not walking with God.
My favorite takeaway is when my initial reaction is to be annoyed with my husband, I take those moments and ask God to bless him with a sincere heart.
