Spencer does an excellent job of presenting the scriptural reasons for Calvinism with citations but is not balanced in his approach as the reviewers claimed. His commentary is sarcastic at times toward other views. I purchased multiple copies of this book for a bible study seeking to explore the differences from an unbiased source. The groupo was disappointed.
This is a very concise description of the five points of Calvinism; it also breaks down the points of Arminianism as well. The book may be small, but there is a lot of good information in it. I wrote a paper on the Five Points of Calvinism, and this book was one of my sources. A very good source if you need to know about Calvinism.
TULIP is a well formatted and easy to read and comprehend work. Spencer does an excellent job of laying out the Doctrines of Grace so that the lay person can understand them. I have and will continue to recommend this book to those who do not truly know what these doctrines mean.
Pastor Dwayne Spencer was a Methodist pastor, and after 9 years of studying Scripture, left the Arminian view in favor of the Calvinistic view. He gives significant references to support the Biblical view of salvation. It is an excellent summary of the contrasts of Arminianism v. Calvinism. Recently presented on Family Radio in audio form.
